1. Do you know that there are more pyramids in Sudan than in the whole of Egypt? There are only 118 pyramids in the whole of Egypt. Sudan conquered the Land of Pharaohs at one point, & Egypt was once ruled by Black Pharaohs. Back then Sudan was home to the Ancient Kingdom of Kush
2. The Kingdom of Kush (present-day Northern Sudan) is the Land of Nubia. Nubian desert is part of the larger Sahara desert stretching from West Africa into the Red Sea. Most of the pyramids in Kush were built around 2500 BC, around the time the Pyramids of Egypt were being built
3. Kush was the biggest built up city in Africa at the time. This was around 5000 years ago. Egypt & the Kingdom of Kush were mortal frenemies. They were trading partners, as well as military rivals. Pharaoh Hatshepsut led a short & successful military campaigns throughout Nubia.
4. She led expeditions to the Land of Punt (modern-day coastal Ethiopia & Djibouti) as well. Hatshepsut was the female king of Egypt who reigned between 1473–1458 BCE. She attained unprecedented power for a woman, adopting the full titles & regalia of a Pharoah. There is more……
5. Hatshepsut was the elder daughter of King Thutmose I (18th Dynasty King). She inherited her father’s throne with Thutmose II (her half brother & husband) as his consort. Upon her husband’s death, the throne passed on to her son - Thutmose III.
6. As Thutmose III was an infant, Hatshepsut acted as Regent for the young king. She bore one daughter, & her name was Neferure. Murder & incestuous marriages was rife among ancient Egyptian dynasties. Brothers & half brothers married sisters, fathers married daughters.
7. Even Cleopatra at age 18 married her brothers (Ptolemy XIII & Ptolemy XIV) at different periods, as co-rulers. This was a period of turmoil & murder, when Egypt was torn apart in Game of Thrones. She was lovers to Julius Caesar, then to Caesar’s trusted General - Mark Antony.
8. Cleopatra will later rule Egypt with her son Ptolemy Caesar (Caesarion). While Ptolemy XIII was killed by Julius Caesar by drowning him in the Nile River, Ptolemy XIV was killed by Cleopatra herself, to pave the way for Caesarion (who was Julius Caesar’s son).
9. Finally, Julius Caesar’s legatee & nephew called Octavian (who later became Augustus Caesar) killed Cleopatra’s son. Back then, it was the Game of Thrones; you either kill or be killed. Fathers killed sons & daughters, daughters killed fathers & brothers, all for the throne.
10. Cleopatra was the last Pharaoh to rule ancient Egypt. She was of Ptolemaic Dynasty (descendants of Alexander the Great). She ruled from 51-30 BC.
Back to my Story; the rivalry in Nubia came to a climax in 1500 BC when Thutmose I invaded Kush, & burned it to the ground.
11. Egyptians stayed in Nubia for 500 years, controlling the kingdom of Kush, & all its resources. Completely assimilated & Egyptianized, the Kushites adopted Egypt’s traditions & religion. Then five centuries later, political turmoil in Egypt led to Egypt’s withdrawal from Kush.
12. Kushites quickly reorganized, rebuilt their city, & became a superpower. In a remarkable turn of events, the once subjugated people did the most unthinkable. They invaded Egypt. Rather than carryout their revenge by burning Egypt to the ground, they exerted their rule instead
13. At least five Kushite Kings would go on to rule over ancient Egypt as Pharaohs of the 25th Dynasty. Among them was king Taharqa who ruled Egypt from 690-664 BC. He was the most famous of the Black Pharaohs. Taharqa ruled more territory than any Egyptian pharaoh before him.
14. The largest pyramid in Kush belong to him as well. Taharqa even got a shoutout from the Old Testament. Another king that ruled Kush was King Nastasen. He reigned from 335-310 BC. Famed for repelling invasion by Egyptians, Nastasen was the last Nubian king to be buried at Nuri
15. He brought about a Renaissance in classic Egyptian arts & architecture, & rejuvenated the culture in Egypt. You find extensive footprints of Kush’s power buried in the sand dunes of Kerma, Nuri & Meroë necropolis, way outside of Northern Sudanese capital - Khartoum.
16. Meroë is the biggest conglomeration of pyramids in the world. There has been more finds in Kush than the entire treasures of Boy King Tutankhamun. Like ancient Egypt, the Kingdom of Kush is an ancient wonder now desolate in the sands of time. It should be a goldmine for Sudan

1. He was Fulani, a teacher, Islamic cleric & a reformer who was the leader of a revolution. But who was Usman Dan Fodio really? What does the History Books tell us about him?
Let’s take a deep dive into his life & strife to spread Islam throughout Northern Nigeria.
2. My story is set in the late 18th century. The tail end of that century was so remarkable. Marked by wars & religious upheavals around the world, Africa & indeed Nigeria, was not left out in the turmoil of that Era. In what is today much of the Sahel, a Revolution was underway.
3. It all started with the dream of a young Muslim cleric called Uthman Dan Fodio. He was a philosopher & a teacher in one of the Royal households of what is now Northern Nigeria. This Royal household was one of the Seven Kingdoms that formed the Hausa lands. READY YOUR POPCORNS
1. At the time he was assassinated by NATO, Libya had $150B in national reserves & zero debt. He was convinced that debt is a western tool for neocolonialism in Africa. 3 years after his death, standard of living in Libya crashed, national debt became $46B
2. Throughout the Ages, History only favored the brave. But who was this man really? What does History say about this revolutionary who became the leader of a coup, a coupist who gave his people prosperity as he understood it, defied the West, & paid the price for his defiance?
3. Many critics continue to argue that he was targeted by the West because of dedollarization, & his vision for a debt-free Africa. While Gaddafi might not have been the ideal of a democratic leader by world standards, Libyans arguably had the best standard of living on his watch
1. According to EU Election Observation Mission, INEC failed Nigerians in their conduct of the 2023 Election. Dele Alake should stop insulting the sensibilities of Nigerians. What the EU said are the Truths, the whole Truths, & nothing but the Truths.
2. There is no better time for that EU Report than now. To have published their unbiased Report on the flawed Elections at a time such as this, is symbolic. The EU has placed their findings before the courts of Public Opinion, & before the ongoing PEPT itself.
3. It’s now 5 months. 5 solid months since the flawed election. When will INEC tell Nigerians the Truth? No matter how much the APC try to attack the EU & gaslight Nigerians, the truth is stubborn, & will remain the truth. Bola Tinubu did not win the 2023 presidential election.
1. Will Tinubu pay the N1000 Proof of Ownership Certificate Fees for the cars in his convoy? As the governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi had less than 5 cars in his convoy. He had only 2 personal security guards as well. Sometimes you couldn’t even recognize he is the governor.
2. That man fought insecurity in his state to a standstill, he drastically cut the Cost of Governance (starting with himself). He told his nephew who wanted a road sweeping contract (to go & bid for the job) like everyone else. He wouldn’t abuse his office to please his relations
3. These are some of the reasons we campaigned for him, FREE OF CHARGE. I’ll do it again in a heartbeat. He left office since 2014, & he went back to his private business. He doesn’t meddle in the affairs or the governance in Anambra. In fact, Soludo attacked him unprovoked.
1. Zambians received their presido like a hero. Hakainde Hichilema went to Paris, he saw, he conquered. Senegal & Zambia secured a $6.3 Billion Debt Forgiveness in Paris. Meanwhile, BAT is off to the UK after a less than desirable show. Don’t you wish to have a presido like this?
2. Visibility in disability was cowering at the back, while his peers engaged Emmanuel Macron in intellectual tête-à-têtes. BAT don’t want to share his ideas with the world just yet? We should give him more time? IDAN don’t wanna address anybody? IDAN works in mysterious ways?
3. Immediately he was sworn in, they began to say he is healthy. They said he only pretended to be ill during the campaigns. He snapped pictures, but he couldn't take the mic? Presidency is now for Paparazzi? I see visibility in disability. So I am hoping you won’t miss my Bubu.
1. Three speakers of Nigerian decent were scheduled to speak: BAT, NOI & Akin Adesina. They had different Tooics. BAT chickened out at the last minute. Nigerian Ambassador had to represent him in the LIVE Session. So BAT could not deliver a Keynote Address or a Closing Remarks?
2. Emilokan could not represent Nigeria? Dele Alake could not prepare a written speech? He couldn’t use the teleprompter? He can only steal mandate? Pay no attention to their excuses. There was no way Nigeria was sidestepped, while South Africa & Kenya presidents spoke, no way!
3. At least deliver a closing remark. BAT did not speak at all (not before, during nor after the Summit). He simply went there to take photos with Alaba, Akin Adesina, Tony Elumelu & Nigerians in Paris? Alake & NIDCOM rather organized a later meet & greet for BAT at the sidelines
