Don’t waste time using ChatGPT or QuillBot to write your thesis.

Instead, use Paperpal which is an AI-powered app.

Here’s how I get high-quality academic writing in minutes:
Paperpal can be used (1) on the web or (2) installed as a Word Add-In.

I prefer to use the Word Add-in to edit as I write – this saves hours of time and supports a seamless writing experience.
Paraphrase Text

Select the text you want to re-write.

The newly written text has the same meaning, numbers and academic tone. Excellent for giving your words an academic boost.

The suggestions will be loaded on the 'Rewrite' tab within seconds.
Trim Text

Paperpal’s Trim feature calculates the word count of your selected sentences or paragraph and provides a reduced version of your text, matching the required word count.
This tool is great for times when you’re struggling to reduce words without losing the meaning. It can also help reduce repetition and help your work sound more concise.
Language Check

This is a fantastic feature. Paperpal picks up on errors within academic writing and suggests edits as you write.

This includes checking word choice, spelling, punctuation, redundancy and much more.
Contextual Synonyms

Do you keep repeating the same word? Stuck on finding a better one?

Simply highlight the word and Paperpal will suggest some other academic words related to this one.

In this example, I much prefer the word ‘required’ to ‘needed’.
Paperpal is your new academic assistant, working at machine speed but with human precision.

Remember, Paperpal doesn’t generate new information for you – rather assisting on a wide range of writing correction tasks.

I have four university degrees - BSc, MRes, PhD and PGCE.

My success if a result of refining how I study and learn new information.

Here are my top 10 learning strategies:

1. Plan and manage your time.

Use a paper planner or a planning app like Notion or Apple Reminders - whatever works for you. If it’s not in writing, it probably won’t happen.
2. Thread lectures, reading, discussion, homework, etc.

Before and after a lecture, always time time to read around the topic and consider the concepts that you may have found challenging. It’s the big circle of learning.

Don’t waste time using ChatGPT for your literature review.

It provides incorrect references and out-of-date information.

Instead, use R Discovery which is a free AI-powered app.

This workflow using R Discovery allows me to quickly write an excellent lit review:
The first step of writing a literature review is the most challenging. Finding the most recent & relevant research papers is time consuming.

First, download the R Discovery app.
Curate your feed by selecting your research topics of interest and follow relevant journals.

R Discovery’s Reading Feed will recommend useful and latest content daily based on these topics.

The world smartest children are found in China.

This is how Chinese students study to rank first worldwide:
Chinese students are known for their academic excellence, and for good reason. They study hard and are often willing to put in long hours to achieve their goals.
They start early.

Chinese students often start studying for exams well in advance. They may begin reviewing material months before the test, and they will often do practice problems and quizzes to help them prepare.
