1. He was Fulani, a teacher, Islamic cleric & a reformer who was the leader of a revolution. But who was Usman Dan Fodio really? What does the History Books tell us about him?

Let’s take a deep dive into his life & strife to spread Islam throughout Northern Nigeria.

2. My story is set in the late 18th century. The tail end of that century was so remarkable. Marked by wars & religious upheavals around the world, Africa & indeed Nigeria, was not left out in the turmoil of that Era. In what is today much of the Sahel, a Revolution was underway.
3. It all started with the dream of a young Muslim cleric called Uthman Dan Fodio. He was a philosopher & a teacher in one of the Royal households of what is now Northern Nigeria. This Royal household was one of the Seven Kingdoms that formed the Hausa lands. READY YOUR POPCORNS
4. The 18th century was drawing to a close. “Gobir” which was one of the Seven Kingdoms in Hausa land, found itself exposed to attacks from within its walls. This was in response to the polytheistic practices of the Royal families.
5. There was this thing about the exercise of power by the Royal family that Dan Fodio found really nauseating. For instance, he frowned at the unjust taxes on pastoralists, the moral corruption: the alcohol consumption in part, & womanizing now widespread among the Royals.
6. At the root of the turmoil of his time, is the increasing spate Muslims were being sold as slaves. This is particularly so because Islamic law forbids specifically Muslims enslaving other Muslims. This had become pervasive since the rise of Transatlantic slave trade in Africa.
7. Motivated by religion, Uthman Dan Fodio began to denounce the rulers of Gobir. Then he begins to preach against all kinds of injustices, especially the malfeasance of Muslims enslaving other Muslims.
8. Now all the victims of this increasingly exploitative regime of the Hausa State, start to gather around Dan Fodio. This became a cause for worry for the rulers. Dan Fodio’s preachings led him into conflict with the King of Gobir called Yunfa (son of Nafata).
9. Then in 1801, Dan Fodio was exiled to the rural village of Degel, were his teachings would soon metamorphose into armed conflict. At the peak of the rift between the rulers of Gobir & Dan Fodio’s men, 300 of Dan Fodio’s soldiers were taken captive.

10. Now these were not just ordinary soldiers, but literate scholars, the exemplars of piety. It gets interesting because these pious soldiers were not ransomed, but sold as slaves. This was the very last straw; the tipping point that tipped the scale.
11. Uthman Dan Fodio have had enough, he didn’t want to dialogue no more. At this point, he was convinced, he had to fight. On one fateful night, a great mystic silhouette appeared in Dan Fodio’s dream. This is how Dan Fodio described the encounter;

12. “he addressed me as Iman the Saint. And commanded me to do what is approved, & forbade me from doing what is disapproved. And he gave me the Sword of Truth, so that I may advance Islamic law, & defeat the enemies of Allah.” This was his inspiration.
13. Right here, Dan Fodio claimed he was visited in the dream by no other person than the Prophet Muhammad s.a.w, & the Sufi preacher - Abdul Qadir Gilani. In this dream, he was given explicit permission to fight.
14. He wasn’t going to fight until he had some kind of divine permission to do so. So at the open of the 19th century (1801-1808), Dan Fodio & his soldiers conquered all the Hausa city states. From this, they created a new state; the Sokoto Caliphate.

15. Dan Fodio now titled Emir Amir al-Mu'minin; translated into "Commander of the Believers," executed the King of Gobir. The Sokoto Caliphate is born. This was novelty; Hausa Kingdom have never been united under a single political ruler.
16. Then all of a sudden, not just the Hausa kingdom but a larger part of the neighboring Sahel, was also brought into the Sokoto Caliphate. Sokoto Caliphate was one of the largest political unit in terms of population & surface area ever created in Africa.
17. This was a complete & total Revolution. Change of status quo (up became down, down became up). A clever man Dan Fodio was; the Revolution was able to spread like wildfire because he offered freedom to the slaves of his enemies, expanding his Empire.
18. Dan Fodio was inspired by another Jihadist Revolution in the Imamate of Futa Toro (present day Senegal), led by his contemporary; Abdul Kader (almami). This theocratic Imamate of Futa Toro started in the year 1776, the same year as the American Declaration of Independence.

19. At a time, the Sokoto Caliphate was one of the most powerful empires in Africa. Founded on strict Islamic principles of morality, piety & justice, this would shape the politics of the entire region, right to this day. The caliphate was a new kind of state.
20. In the past, scholars had served as counselors to kings. But now, the scholars themselves were running things. Also note that one of the major outcomes of this revolution was that African languages become languages for scholarly production.
21. That ushered in the world of Islamic texts & manuscripts. His revolution was social, as much as it was political. It wasn’t just the jihad of the sword, but also of the heart. Women were at the center of his revolution.

22. One of the most notable figures that emerged from Usman Dan Fodio’s revolution was his daughter. She was not a warrior but a Poet. Her name was Nana Asmaʼu. Nana’s life & works are still being celebrated today.

23. The Sokoto Caliphate boosted of textiles & trade in Kola nuts (one of the stimulants allowed in Islam). Every aspect of trade was booming, including the trade in people. Now only non-Muslims were sold as slaves. But slaves could convert to Islam & be freed.

24. Yet an estimated 2 million people were kept by the Sokoto Caliphate as slaves, to work the fields. In fact at its peak, the Sokoto Caliphate had more slaves than any state in the whole of Africa. This is one of the great ironies of History, isn’t it?
25. A Revolution that began in part to correct the enslavement of Muslims, ends up leading to probably more enslavement than what had come prior to it. And even Usman Dan Fodio himself warned against the way that he saw his revolution turning.
26. But at this time, he was too old to be able to do anything about it. He said & I quote; “when we enter towns & enslave free people, know that the fire will enslave us.” The Sokoto Caliphate went on to inspire other holy wars elsewhere in West Africa.
27. There would be the domino effect; the rise of the Islamic empires of Massina (in present day Mopti & Ségou Regions of Mali), Tukulor (in present day Senegal to Timbuktu Mali), & in Northern Guinea as well.
28. This was a time of revolutions around the world. The American Revolution, French Revolution, & the Haitian Revolution. All were reactions against tyranny & inequality, leading to new definitions of justice & renaissance. Africa was not left out.

29. The Republic of Haiti & the Sokoto Caliphate were established in the same year; 1804. Dan Fodio died in 1817, at age 62. By this time he had established an Empire of some 30 Emirates administered from the seat of his Caliphate; Sokoto.

30. Dan Fodio was succeeded by his son, Muhammed Bello. By early 20th century, the Sokoto Caliphate fell to the British army in 1903 & was incorporated into its protectorate in Northern Nigeria.

31. The Caliphate is far from forgotten. Its belief systems live on through the Sultans & Emirs in the polytheistic Northern Nigeria.

32. The purpose of this thread is not to stir up any kind of tribal or religious war. This is a story retold many times already. I honestly do not like to talk Nigeria History, because people have their biases. No wonder the Goverment removed History in schools.
33. There is too much bad blood down there. My preference is China, the larger Africa, Europe & America. Divisions in Nigeria are just too much. I expect some form of backlash from those who imagine they’re the custodians of Nigeria’s History. Good or bad, I welcome all comments.
34. Telling History precisely how it happened, it shouldn’t be predicated on anyone’s comfort. Like most nations, Nigeria has been through blood & shame, nowadays ‘he’ lives in denial. But if Nigerians truly want to know their History, then it should be taught in schools. THE END

This state visit is why I will never support Kamala Harris. Goodluck Jonathan secured a $1.1 Billion low-interest loan to develop infrastructure (from President Xi Jinping of China). This was the fire that started it all.

Barrack Obama felt really rattled after this trip.

Chibok Girls Kidnapping, & a global BBOG Campaign was the result. Led by the Obamas’ themselves, David Axelrod was in Nigeria to lead a global campaign for GEJ’s ouster.

Barrack Obama’s Secretary of State, John Kerry, interfered directly with the 2015 General Election in Nigeria (by holding private talks with the then Opposition candidate, Buhari).

We could argue that the APC (led by Bola Tinubu, outsmarted Goodluck Jonathan). However, David Axelrod ran the entire campaign in 2015 from behind the scene.

Nigeria is, or was a Sovereign nation. Therefore one cannot just sweep the international interference under the carpet. John Kerry was in Nigeria to visit President Jonathan, but somehow, he ended up meeting with Buhari.

The rest they say, is History.

Obama is the devil himself. At the peak of 2014, he had already caused havoc in at least 5 different countries, including my native Nigeria.

Libya & Nigeria never recovered from the turmoil of his Era. Today, My Nigeria belongs to various terrorist enclaves. His public façade & spectacle conceal his true nature. Many are deceived, but not me. His Diabolic Crusade will never go unforgotten. I am telling this tiny bit of History so that young Nigerians will remember.

That said, I won’t vote for Donald Trump either.

I don’t support his anti-immigration harsh rhetorics. U.S Nationalism & extreme Far-Right Movement is at odds with moving forward. I find those extreme. America was built by Immigrants escaping persecution & harsh realities around the world. Diversity was one the dream of its Founding Fathers.

The tablet held by Lady Liberty on her left hand is inscribed “JULY IV MDCCLXXVI.” It marked the birth of American Democracy; asserting its founding principles of:

1. The fundamental right to life, liberty, & the pursuit of happiness. 2. The commitment to freedom, democracy, & equal rights for all.

It was 137 years ago when The Statue of Liberty was dedicated. “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.”

Emma Lazarus taught me that, & it’s a poem I’ll never forget. The “New Colossus” is the sonnet on the pedestal of The Statue Of Liberty, & it’s a poem so dear to my heart. It acknowledged the many hardships & struggles experienced by immigrants in New York in the late 1800s.

It speaks to the fact that the United States is a beacon of hope, freedom & opportunity for those seeking a new life. That statue is the welcoming symbol into America, it stands superimposing till this day; a reminder that American ideals was shaped by the nation's history & its identity, embodied by immigrants.

There is no America without Diversity. Hence, Emma Lazarus described those immigrants as "huddled masses yearning to breathe free.”

Now you know my reason for saying NO to Trump. Kamala & Trump are different side of the same coin. For me, both are a constant reminder of Nigeria’s checkered past.

Donald Trump was the POTUS when young Nigerians were massacred at the Lekki Tollgate in Lagos Nigeria; was he not? That unfortunate event happened on 10 October, 2020.

The Nigeria Army massacred young defenseless Nigerians waving the Nigeria Flag. Many were left in a pool of their own blood, & Trump did nothing! He did however added salt to injury (by supplying the Super Tucano Attack Helicopters to the Nigerian Brutish Regime led by the cold-blooded tyrant called Buhari).

So I have grudges for both end of the spectrum.

My candidate didn’t get the Republican Nomination. Any vestige of the Obamas’ is a no for me. I keep political grudges when lives are involved, & I don’t forget. November 5 is Retribution, & I have my reasons.

Not voting is a type of protest as well.

NOW YOU KNOW!!Image
Image
The whole Bring Back Our Girls Campaign was a hatchet PR instigated by the Obamas’.

At the White House, Rochas Okorocha made a statement that I will forget. He said & I quote, “I felt like singing the national anthem when Obama called Buhari ‘a man of honour.”

How do you tell a great story?
You magnify it for all to see.

It all started as one of those his harmless tweets. Peter Obi in his usual fashion tried to draw a straight line between an intentional government, & talent discoveries.

He centered his post on the Spanish wonderkid "Lamine Yamal," how sports development at the grassroots can turn around the fortunes of the youth demography.

Then the miraculous happened!

One of those hungry Children of the CORN strayed into the Obidient trap, by asking their usual silly questions.

What followed will shock you. I took out the time to put this thread together, to show Nigerians what went down.

We knew nothing about them (before, during, & after the 2023 campaigns). At first, they sounded outlandish. I thought the handles were some of those fake Agbados masquerading as Obidients.

I WAS WRONG! I had to do a little digging to verify most of the claims. What I found was astonishing.Image

Nnamdi plays for FC Astana. Chucks Okoye plays for Union FC Denmark.

Both are the products of Peter Obi’s love for grassroots sports as the Governor of Anambra state.

Go and Verify, we’ve only discovered 5% of his many wonders.

I googled further, & discovered that most the claims are true. We may never know everything he achieved in education, youth empowerment, health & in other HDIs.

But if I'm in his shoes, I'll be beating my chest everyday, stomping the yard & tromping my feet.

I'll be making some noise everyday, & disturbing everywhere.Image

THE ILLUMINATI.

Who are these obscure but highly elitist clandestine brotherhood, the incubators of democracy, science & ecumenical religion? Who are these radicals with powers wrapped up in their ability to stay anonymous & keep their correspondences a secret?

The Illuminati, plural of the Latin word “Illuminatus” (the unusually enlightened), is a clandestine organization steeped in mystery & conspiracies, & birth in esoterism for more than 500 years. But who are they really? What do we know about them?

Believed to have existed in its earliest form as the gnostic “Alumbrados” (Spanish word for enlightened) around 1492, who later fell victim to the Church’s Inquisition, it reached France from Italy, then Spain in 1623, in the form of “Illuminés.”

The Bavarian Illuminati is the most prominent group to be associated with the name “Illuminati.” Founded in 1776 by Adam Weishaupt (a professor of canon law at Ingolstadt, a city in Bavaria, Germany), Weishaupt was a former Jesuit while his colleagues were all priests.

Weishaupt wanted to replace Christianity with a religion of “reason.” His members called themselves the “Perfectibilists,” or Perfectionists in English. Frustrated by the church’s teachings & spiritual stagnation, Weishaupt wanted to usher in CHANGE.

But how? How would he achieve change in that age & era? People were beginning to fill their heads with enlightenment. But there was also great confusion, more specifically — “the uncertainty of how these changes might be implemented.”

Within a few years, there would be the uprising by irate mob, leading to the execution of the last French Monarchy (that of Louis XVI & Marie-Antoinette).

Welcoming this first sign of change in France but rejecting the violence, Adam Weishaupt had in mind a different approach. “He wanted to undermine the State from within.” He hoped to achieve this through a Secret Order, & his students were perfectly positioned to receive his ideas.

“Reason” anchored on “enlightenment” would become the bedrock of this new Secret Order - the Illuminati.

Weishaupt in one of his famous speech said “No to Revolution! Violence achieves nothing! We must tie the devil’s hand & govern without domination! Legion of men must dominate the mighty in this world, they will pursue the grand plan of guiding mankind & never give up!”

A great speech by many stretch. To put it more clearly, Adam Weishaupt wanted a secret government within the state.

A scary idea even at that time. People were motivated to join such secret societies because it was the melting pot for hotheads, for revolutionaries, people with insane ideas, who could express themselves within a secret order, without the fear of retribution.

In the aftermath of the French Revolution, the Illuminati setup countless lodges & began to recruit new members, especially the academia.

Weishaupt & his recruits would spread across the cities of Bavaria, across Europe, from Italy to Denmark, Warsaw to Paris, making connections with Masonic lodges (were they often managed to gain prominent positions).

The movement over time acquired a rigorously complex constitution & internal system of communication conducted in ciphers. The Illuminati rejected “throne & altar,” but they were not unaware of the consequences of opposing absolute rulers.

Adam Weishaupt was self-opinionated, he was narcissistic & domineering. He wanted the state held in higher degree of purity & perfection. As the supreme leader of the fraternal society, he demanded absolute loyalty & obedience from members.

They gave themselves Greek names as cover, & introduced their own time standards. Ritualistic rites were attributed to the order. They took a vow of silence, were forbidden to speak about the society’s rituals & aims.

2. You have to pass through the 13 hierarchies of the Illuminati before you can be made privy to its secrets. Members were highly encouraged to spy on & denounce one other. A clever way of quickly identifying saboteurs & to neutralize them.

The Illuminati thrived in political intrigues, but also in plot & subversion. Being a domineering figure, Adam had a weakness for the ancient Athenians, he valued their ideas & Democratic principles. This is why the Athenian Owl is the symbol of the Illuminati.

His agenda was anchored on education that will take time. He once said “it could take well over 200 years before success in the form of enlightenment would triumph.” At a time the Illuminati had over 2000 members, all of them high ranking members of the society.

Large numbers would be drawn from the Freemasons (who saw the Illuminati as more radical & more exciting). Recruited Illuminati members were young men of wealth, of rank & social status, & members of Masonic lodges.

Friedrich Knigge was a Mason convert, who went on to gain commanding position in the Bavarian Order. Knigge is credited with writing the Constitution & the internal communication system of the order.

Members gave Knigge a special Classical name, he alone was addressed by this name. Weishaupt was called ‘Spartacus,’ Knigge was ‘Philo.’ Every internal communication was conducted in ciphers. For greater mystification, towns & provinces were assigned arbitrary names.

Some famous Illuminati were literary giants Johann Wolfgang von Goethe & Philosopher Johann Gottfried von Herder. Astronomer Johann Bode, writer & bookseller Friedrich Nicolai. The Philosopher Friedrich Jacobi, Friedrich Leopold the Poet. Francis Bacon & St. Ignatius of Loyola.

The Illuminati were very strict & hierarchical oriented. Members laid bare their private lives (a requirement members were at odds with). It was a secret society that simply asked for too much. Kings & Princes were not going to subject their authority to men.

It just wasn’t appealing to Royalty. So the more influential the Illuminati grew, the more the resistance it faced. The absolutists (Monarchs) hit back, those who cowered met their deaths in somewhat mysterious circumstances.

In 1785, a courier on his way to France to deliver a letter was struck (allegedly by lightening). Then the police found on him, names of members. The secret order was banned just 10 years after it was founded, & membership carried the death penalty.

Adam Weishaupt was stripped of his professorship at Ingolstadt, & banished from Bavaria. The Bavarian Illuminati was driven by the idea of “benevolent despotism” as a ladder for Enlightenment.

It would suffer from internal dissension, then ultimately banned by the Bavarian government edict of 1785. Some members were imprisoned, while others were driven from their homes.

During the suppression, authorities found documents that defended suicide & atheism, as well as instructions for abortion. We have no evidence of the Bavarian order in historical record after 1785.

But Adam Weishaupt allegedly established contact with leading figures in America before he fled Ingolstadt. In alleged letters he wrote to Benjamin Franklin, he sort permission to setup a colony in Allysium (the spelling is vague) a codename for America.

These letters has been a subject of speculations till this day. Karl Theodor of Bavaria, forced by the church, banned the order in 1785. However, conspiracy theorists believe the Illuminati continued to exist outside Bavaria.

Some of America’s Founding Fathers saw the Illuminati as exciting. An order that started in 1776, two months before the American Declaration of Independence.

They believe that Weishaupt fled to Gotha under the protection of Franz Xaver von Zwack, the Councilor & President of the Government of Munich & Espira. He was the prince who belonged to the Illuminati. While in exile, Weishaupt continued to write several books on Illuminism.

3. Did the Illuminati escape Germany for the United States? Are they in fact still influencing America’s politics? Do we really have traces of the Illuminati in this “One Nation Under God?” Are some of its most cryptic messages hidden in plain sight?

The Illuminati was represented by the symbol of the ancient goddess of wisdom (Athena), more commonly called the Athenian Owl or Owl of Minerva. The “Eye of Providence” on the top of the 13 Steps Pyramid, is also a symbol allegedly used by the Illuminati.
Originally a Christian symbol, the disembodied eye strongly suggests the sense of a prying authoritarian Big Brother.

It is true the Illuminati were inspired by the ideas behind Freemasonry, but the “Eye of Providence” is pointing more to 18th century esthetics than it does about the Illuminati authority. Conspiracy theorist won’t like this.

The Illuminati is linked to the $1 bill in the form of the Owl symbol & the Roman numeral “MDCCLXXVI - 1776,” representing the year the Illuminati was founded, the year the American Declaration of Independence was written. A coincidence?

Their mottos: Annuit Cœptis, meaning - “Providence has favored our undertakings,” & Novus Ordo Seclorum - “New order of the ages,” was suggested in 1782 by one of America’s founding father, Charles Thomson.

Both mottos suggesting that the founders who led the American Revolution understood that “providence” played a key role in their gaining Independence from Great Britain.

Alongside the date MDCCLXXVI (1776) at the base of the unfinished pyramid, Charles Thompson explained the words signify the beginning of a “New American Era.”

Epluribus Unum — “One from many,” found on the Great Seal & proposed by John Adams, Benjamin Franklin & Thomas Jefferson in 1776, was one of the earliest motto of the United States, until 1956.

So are the Illuminati & all their insignia a figment of our imagination? Are they real & in fact ruling the corporate world as it we know it today Organized along Jesuit lines, members pledged obedience to their superiors via well divided class system.

The first order were:
1. novices
2. Minervals &
3. lesser illuminati.

The second order are the:
Freemasons, organized into:
i Ordinary
ii. Scottish &
iii. Scottish knights.

The third order included the:
Mystery class comprised of:
i. Priest & regent, as well as
ii Magus & king.

The secret order of the Illuminati has 13 hierarchical levels. This explains why the number 13 appears everywhere. On the dollar bill, 13 is the number of stars above the Eagle, 13 Colonies (the number of the original U.S states). The number of arrows as well.

Everyone was handling the dollar bill & what way to teach Americans about America than through the symbols printed on it currency notes? So are these all too familiar & insane relics of a less sophisticated time, mere conspiracies of men? Are they real & in fact, here with us?

I’ll digress a little. 13 holds a significance in Christendom. 13 have always been considered ominous since antiquity. The Last Supper of Jesus Christ, 13 were the number of diners. The Kabbalah lists 13 evil spirits as well as the Nordic legends.

The Book of Revelation chapter 13 talks about the antichrist & the beast. A Scandinavian legend tells of the tradition in the supper of the gods in Valhalla, with (Loki the spirit of evil) as the 13th guest. In the Tarot, the number 13 speaks of death.

13 was the number witches of the Middle Age waited before they made their potions.

Back to my story, America’s founding fathers saw the pyramid as the kind of human structure that lasted out the ages, so they wanted the country to last as long as the pyramids. But the pyramid & eye didn’t show up on the dollar bill until 1935. They started out as part of U.S Great Seal.

1. The Children of the Corn are now the worst hit with their father’s unforgiving hit the ground running, his insensitivity & helpless aloofness. You see them wailing with intensity at work places, business premises, in your neighborhoods, even in worship centers. THERE IS MORE!!
2. “The early bed catches the worm.” Now deep inside his conceited facade, they’ll be the first to be devoured. They can do nothin, they’ll continue to wail & gnash their teeth. Things are worse than you think. Like witches & wizards they’ll continue to whine & whisper in silence
3. It’s so bad their father already abandoned them. Many are confused, while others are tired of complaining about the hardships. Their tongues are tired of wailing. Some cannot bear it anymore, others are still too ashamed to cryout. They will continue to die in silence for now.
