Looks like The Northeast Alliance between @jetblue and @americanair is coming to an end. 😞 ✈️
Even though American continues to push ahead with an appeal, JetBlue has decided to opt out. What does that mean for travelers? 🧵 ⬇️

📍In effect, the unwinding of the alliance will begin this Friday.
NEA flights booked for dates beyond the deadline will still be honored but make sure that your frequent flyer numbers are added before Thursday, otherwise, you’ll lose those benefits and miles! 😬 😬
📍American noted that travelers can still use AAdvantage miles to book award flights on Jetblue-operated flights through Thursday for future travel.
After that, you’re out of luck. 😓 🫠
📍American is still planning to appeal the U.S. District Court’s ruling against the NEA, with a hearing happening on July 26 —5 days after the end of the alliance.
If the airline wins the appeal, then there might be hope that the two carriers could rebuild their alliance. 🙏
So what does that mean for you?
If you want to book a flight operated by one but ticketed by the other, you must book by the end of the day Thursday, even for future travel.
Right now, both airlines will most likely reconfigure their networks to account for the loss of the NEA.
