THE Premises of the Akhil Bhartiya Sarva Sewa Sangh in Varanasi were on Sat emptied by the Northern Railways, 8 were detained.🍀 1/14

Sarva Seva Sangh is a registered society established in 1948 by freedom fighter Acharya Vinoba Bhave to propagate the ideas and philosophy of Gandhiji.

Gandhiji wanted to call a meeting of people engaged in different fields in the country at Sevagram on 2 Feb 1948. 🍀🙏2/14

It was Gandhiji's dream to educate every citizen of this country the real meaning of 'Swaraj'.

But it didn't happen as the present-day icon Sri Nathuram Godse ended his life on 30th Jan 1948.

However, the proposed conference did take place from 11-15 March 1948. 🌿3/14

The meeting was attended by Acharya Bhave, Pt Nehru, Dr Rajendra Prasad, Maulana Abdul Kalam, Dr Zakir Hussain, J.C. Kumarappa, Kakasaheb Kalelkar, Gulsarilal Nanda, Jayaprakash Narayan & others. 🌻

Thus Akhil Bharat Sarva Seva Sangh came into existence in April 1948. 🌿 4/14

Sarva Seva Sangh was established in Varanasi through the efforts of Acharya Bhave, Dr Rajendra Prasad, Lal Bahadur Shastri, JP & others.

It was on this premises JP established the Gandhi Vidya Sansthan in 1960 to bring together Gandhian thought & modern social sciences. 🌿5/14

15/5/23 Govt forcefully took over the institute & gave it 2 Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts under the Ministry of Culture.

Sangh went 2 HC & on 16/5/23 Allah HC directed Varnasi DM 2 examine land records & ascertain ownership.

The DM started hearing on 29th May,23 & on 26th June,23 he passed an order saying that the land belongs to the Northern Railways.🌸

27th June 2023, a notice was pasted on the premises of the Seva Sangh Premises by Northern Railways saying to vacate the land immediately.🍀 7/14

28/6/23 Seva Sangh went to Allah HC against the demolition order, praying that it be quashed as the society had three land deeds 1960,1961 & 1970.

On July 4, 2023, the HC refused any relief against the order for the demolition saying to approach the Lower Court. 🌿 8/14

The Seva Sangh then knocked on the doors of the Supreme Court. On 7/7/23 the SC agreed to hear the plea challenging the decision of the Varanasi DM, however, no relief was in sight.

The sale Deed between the Railways & Sarva Seva Sangh was registered in the yr 1960. 🌸9/14

The doc mentioned that the plot no. 8/9/10/11/12 of the railways was sold at Rs 23490 that is @ 2700/acre to the Sangh.

It also mentioned that Rs 26730 was deposited in the SBI as per treasury Challan no.17 by the Sangh towards the value of property & other items. 🌿 10/14

The land which was purchased by the SarvaSevaSangh & registered & possessed for decades all of a sudden became illegal on technicalities & the so-called procedural lapses.

Yesterday all these f00l old men emptied in the presence of heavy police & local admin. Funny na? 😅 11/14

Varanasi DM S Rajalingam said the eviction drive was undertaken by the Railways. “Our officials may have been present for law order". 🙂

ACP (Kotwali) Amit Pandey said 8 people were detained to “maintain the law and order situation” during the eviction drive. 🙂 12/14

These old Buddhas the last few days left to live can become a threat to Law & Order. True.🙂

But for whom are they fighting? Why?
