Zuljanah was a horse that belonged to Imam Hussain ع. It was raised & bred by Rasool Allah ﷺ. Zuljanah was known for its loyalty, strength and endurance. Zuljanah was a gift from Holy Prophet (SAW) to Imam Hussain (as).

When Imam Hussain (as) fell down the horse & was extremely injured and drained of energy, Zuljanah came circling around him rubbing his head on his blood.

Horsemen surrounded it. Zuljanah started kicking with its front legs & killed 40 riders & 10 horses. Seeing this Umar ibn Saad said leave him & let us see what it does. Zuljanah went back to Imam Husain ع to rub his head on his blood as it sniffed him. It was neighing very loudly

According to some narrations Zuljanah kept rubbing his head on the blood of Imam Hussain (as) until he died. But according to some narration after the martyrdom of Imam Hussain ع , Zuljanah went to the river Euphrates and never returned.💔
