George Feltenstein would later recall how his industry colleagues laughed at the mere suggestion of his plan to create a laserdisc boxed set devoted to Looney Tunes.
But his gamble paid off, with The Golden Age of Looney Tunes eventually selling over 14,000 copies in its first year of release and becoming the twenty-fifth best-selling laserdisc of 1992, well over four times the company's own expectations.
A follow-up set was not only all but inevitable, but it would also pave the way for similar sets centered around Tom and Jerry and Tex Avery's MGM cartoons.
Our final verdict. The Golden Age of #LooneyTunes Volume 1 is an exceptional laserdisc collection. A must have and it serves as a template for future Looney Tunes video sets. A prime standard indeed. From sides that focus on decades, directors, and certain themes.
This was our 40th #VideoWednesday. Next time, we will look at the next laserdisc set from MGM/UA Home Video, The Golden Age of Looney Tunes Vol. 2, released on July 1, 1992. That's all, Folks!

This #VideoWednesday we will look at the February 1991 releases of the Bugs Bunny Collection. #LooneyTunes #LooneyTwt
In each of these following four VHS tapes, one extra Bugs Bunny cartoon is listed at the back of the VHS cover, even though said Bugs Bunny cartoon is not included in said VHS release.
This was presumably due to a printing error. The mistake was initially corrected as the sixth cartoon in each of the videos were included in later shipments.

First up, Elmer Fudd. As a special tribute to the 50th birthday of that "wascally wabbit" Bugs Bunny, this compilation looks at one of Looney Tunes best loved characters; Elmer Fudd. (1/3)...
As the determined Hunter, Elmer is fair game for Bugs Bunny and no matter how hard he tries to trick the rabbit, the joke is always on Elmer Fudd. Pink and pudgy, Elmer is basically a likable guy. (2/3)...
