There are financial consequences for collecting money while drawing disability & retirement.
Carl's GFM he closed in June FAR EXCEEDED what you're allowed to take in annually while drawing.
It would also put him over the line for that HUD housing.

Back in 1980 offering the recruiter over jail time for young punks was a thing.
Unfortunately there's no way to verify why he walked into the recruiter's office on the 17th of September 1980, but it's where Carl's version of events takes a hard turn from reality.

We suspected Carl's claims of being a "disabled veteran" might be Carl stretching the truth. He's notorious for this.

So a 3rd call is had with an incredibly helpful gentleman at National Archives:
"That's all the file contains"
Which brought us to, why no dd214? We already had the answer though:
A cat we grew up with suffered a similar fate after joining the marines.

See this guy had some issues in boot camp, bad attitude, bad knees. Well he finally gets leave, goes to Mardi Gras of all places, trouble ensues, months in the brig, fights in the brig.
Finally The Corp washed their hands of him.

That's about right for the guy mentioned above. He sat in the brig for about 6 or 7 weeks.

So let's take a look at Carl's record.

Note the "NA" all over the receipt because the listed file type doesn't exist.
Also note the "court martial" section says "Not on file" instead of "NA".

We don't doubt this one bit- the first job thing. It's something he's stated since 2017, before he decided to start spinning his history.

Let's think about this logically:
1. If bad enough to send him out of the service, most likely he'd need surgeries, therapy, etc. He sure wouldn't be hot footing in the hills.
2. If not that bad, they'd have fixed him, and kept him to get their money back. Full stop.

There was a horrible accident on May 26th 1981.

Were 9 of those 14 Carl's classmates? Very possible.
But it was aboard The Nimitz, not Kitty Hawk, and it was a plane crash not a sidewinder.

There was a Sidewinder accident in the Navy about 5 yrs later. Only Sidewinder involved accident the navy had.
