In view of @worqas' latest revelations, one might wonder if Dr Shahid Masood was caught in visa fraud.

Well Dr. Masood is also reported to be involved in visa fraud (in the UK) but let's leave that story.

So what were they jointly involved in?

To understand how they were accomplices, we will have to go back years.

In Jan 2005, Dr Shazia (a Dr. working in Baluchistan) was sleeping in her apartment in a secure hospital complex guarded by DSG (Defence Security Guards).

Her husband was working overseas.

Suddenly, a masked intruder strangled, threatened, blindfolded, repeatedly raped her.

When Dr Shazia raised an alarm after her ordeal, the regime and DSG sprang into action save the rapist, to whitewash the crime scene and put her in house arrest in Karachi.

Why would DSG and Musharraf regime be so keen to get rid of the story?

The reason is that the rapist was Captain Hammad of DSG whose job was to secure the hospital facility.

Those were the days of the enlightened moderated dictatorship, and the army was keen to smother negative stories.

Several shady characters did their job in smothering the story.

You guessed it right.

Baig and Dr S. Masood were sent to cover up.

They threatened Dr. Shazia & her husband that their lives were under threat and the regime was keen to settle them in Canada after a short stop in the UK.

Like slimy salesmen, they assured they will handle the immigration, travel, and security so the 'couple is not killed in Pakistan.'

The threatened and shaken couple was shipped to MB and Dr. SM's contact’s house in the UK.

The couple was also separated from their adopted son who was not flown out with them.

When Dr. Shazia and her husband tried to contact MB and Dr SM who had promised help with immigration and security, they completely blanked them. No help came to move them to Canada.

The couple was stranded in the UK.

MB and Dr. SM's host contact also mistreated Dr Shazia and the couple had to relocate from the house & get assistance from @amnesty and other orgs and live in dingy welfare housing, far removed from their family and comfort.

The regime put all kinds of character assassination rumours on Dr. Shazia which initially made her contemplate suicide.

Sources inform that ISPR allocated $200k for covering up the story & to give the couple money for visa, travel etc.

In particular, is there more on the duo of Mohsin Baig (MB) and Dr Shahid Masood (Dr. SM)? Yes..

Baig and Dr. Shahid arranged visa for the couple but also pocketed $25k dollars each from the $200k.
