THREAD: TRUMP’S LAWYER CONFESSES: I have a theory as to why. You’ve all seen the videos by now of trump’s lawyer Lauro making the rounds talking about how trump only wanted pence to delay the electoral count by ten days so he could send it back to the states. 1/
I think this may be his defense. First, he COULD make the “advice of counsel” defense. But that would require him to waive attorney client privilege (which he may do to throw his six co-conspirators under the bus). But it would also require him to take the stand. Yikes. 2/
Now, trump HAS been waiving attorney client privilege recently including for Rudy Giuliani. But if I were a trump defense attorney (barf sound), I think my client would have a better chance in front of SCOTUS on appeal than a grand jury. 3/

If you still think Merrick Garland is spineless, ask yourself why you’re not outraged with Dana Nessel, Kris Mayes, and Fani Willis for not indicting trump yet.

For real.

Just sit with that for a second.

Ask yourself who wants you to hate Merrick Garland.
Then ask yourself if you also hate Hillary Clinton. And why? Is your answer “she’s not likable” or “she ran a bad campaign in the swing states”?

Now ask yourself why you’re parroting these talking points.

Actually, ask yourself why you’re parroting anything.
Now ask yourself if you truly believe both parties are the same. Even when you’ve heard John Lewis speak and Josh Hawley speak. Even when you’ve heard Kirstin Gillibrand or Lindsey Graham speak.

The footage could pertain to the big lie trump and Rudy pushed about the “suitcase full of ballots” and the “hard drive” handed off between Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss that turned out to be a ginger mint. So why would Jack smith want to review that footage? 2/
First of all, Rudy is about to face “severe sanctions” in a defamation lawsuit filed in DC against Rudy by Freeman and Moss - and he’s already been sanctioned for about $90K for slow-walking document discovery in that case. But I digress. Back to the footage. 3/

BREAKING: THREAD: Reps Goldman and Raskin have sent a letter to Rep Comer DEMANDING he open an investigation into whether republicans on the Oversight committee have been DUPED by their “whistleblower” Gal Luft in furtherance of China’s interests. 1/
In the letter, Raskin and Goldman explain that the information Luft shared with FBI agents - the information the GOP keeps saying will blow the lid off the Biden probe - took place during a meeting that led to charges against Luft for making false statements to the FBI. 2/
They also remind Comer that he himself said his special witness was in the spy business, and now we know why. He was charged with failing to register as a foreign agent for China and is a fugitive from Justice. 3/

Y’all. An aggressive investigation was opened by DoJ into the fraudulent elector scheme in November 2021. Court documents show Windom sought subpoenas and search warrants going back to as early as December of 2021. The FBI didn’t want to play ball so he used the IG. 1/
Now, WHY it took until November 2021 is still a question. Though the DC US Attorney didn’t get there until November 2021 because of republicans in the senate. And trump holdovers kept information from the AG and Biden appointees at main justice. 2/
Yes, I think it should have been opened sooner. I do not know why Garland didn’t get all the info needed. But can we stop saying the committee pushed DoJ to start investigating? DoJ had the Eastman emails well before the committee did. It’s in the court docs. END/
