Boarded and directed by Shinpei Wada that is filled with symbolism and metaphors. The impact that Rudeus made on others and the path that people enable him to tread on. Freedom birds are a central motive and piece.
We open with a simple scene of a curtain with a light at the end of it. It can be seen as figuratively and literally in a way that it shines upon Rudeus world and in order to reach it he has to take a step. This curtain motif was present previously in attempts that hurted him.
Opened birdcage with 3 colored leathers laying next to it indicating that there were once birds trapped in it and Rudeus freed them. It is a reference to main girls which where able to change thanks to his influence. We also see a spilled drink. Just like on that night with Eris.
We see a huge circle on the ground which seems reminiscent of a teleportation one and given that we are to investigate the incident it could be important. It is surrounded by flowers of the same color which often indicates a person or is symbolic towards. I speak no more.
Flowers are another piece that this opening gave a bit of focus to but mostly to remind us of the nature that some characters have. Green filtered space of a study table with white flowers that were present both when Sylphie fell from the sky and towards the end of this video.
It is all a dream that Rudeus has and the figure isn't clearly present. We see Sylphie take shape of a bird flying towards the sky with Rudeus being unable to fully grasp her hand leading to wake. He has yet to know which is why his vision is unclear.
The blue bird (Roxy) is leading Rudeus towards Ranoa and his future. It is symbolic to the impact which Roxy made on him. She may not be in physical form next to him but is always watching over so he wouldn't be alone. She has that huge importance to him.
The further Rudeus goes the more his world began to be filled with memories. Sometimes painful and others of happiness. It is to show in a beautiful way how his life changes and becomes an inseperable part of him.
Though these memories may stay they are not put in the same place. It can be seen as Rudeus exploring Ranoa and impact showing in front of him or it is his mind that we are exploring along the way. Rudeus treated Eris like a family and she flew away like this red bird.
But his mind isn't only filled with good memories. He stumbled across terrifying sights. Memory room filled with Orsted on every side. Unable to leave him. Until a spark appears in the form of green leather which may finally be what takes him back.
The green bird who was still lingering within Rudeus mind but was silent as he thought she was missing began to change colors and entering a new page. As a bird flies past Ariel and Luke it turns white. Like Sylphie's new persona and another soul.
When he found the resolve and a new goal to search for he no longer felt numb and terrified upon waking from that dream. Afraid of being abanonded. Now he has a pendant on his neck and white flowers behind his back. Those that accompanied Sylphie and she nurtured so much.

Regrets. Mistakes. Failures. Even after getting up we stumble across obstacles that life puts on our way. It is not easy to overcome but gradually we tend to learn. We grow. We change. We fight. In an never ending battle called life
It is clear by now that Sara was a walking Eris reminder that constantly kept bugging Rudeus with her presence and his lack of ability to read the room. Over the course of this episode we see multiple doubts that he himself feels but also some that are suggested to him by others.
The very scene in bed and justification is specifically designed to mirror that from season 1 with some, I'm almost confident similar frames and Sara claiming to have done it out of obligation. The scene had a very tough to convey the considering nature of problem.
Introduction of a story taken from extra chapter necessary for future development. The worrying signs are partially true as even with change of staff, the show retains segmented aspects that made people love Mushoku so much.
I personally believe that this could have been used as an OVA instead of a season opener due to its contents that slighlty require remembering what happened in season 1 to avoid confusion. Most episode was spent on Asura's politics and showing us what Sylphie was going through.
The delivery was rather straight forward with not to many aspects that require explanation, however the amount of new or updated information can feel a bit overwhelming, especially if politics is not someone's cup of tea. We got to meet new faces that actually made cameo in S1.
Hell's Paradise is a peculiar production. Argueably Mappa's biggest underwhelming show from recent memory. There is no reason to deny enjoyment from people but simply ignoring criticism wouldn't lead to any conensus. Let's try having an open mind and discuss the topic.
Question: Has Mappa sacrificed Jigoku for Jujutsu?
Answer: Mappa has "sacrificed" Shingeki for Jigoku. The reason being that they share the same Animation Producer, Wataru Kawagoe, therefore if there was any prod which had any possible affect it would be this.
Animation Producer is a role whose task is to contact animators, gather team and handle all logistics behind this process. Of course people have limited time and you can only have enough animators so when you make too many shows, the lack of resources starts being an issue.
The curse cannot be lifted as long as the father exists. Unable to live a normal life Aqua is chained to this goal. Even when faced with light that could potentially save him. Using the same machinations of industry to carve his path to revenge.
One of the core themes of this episode is the distinction between various entities which are A, and Aqua (Akane kind off) with each of them having a lying persona. It begs a question where is the truth and how one is supposed to grasp it. That frustrated Aqua tremendously.
He couldn't comprehend how someone so distant could have supposedely "figured out" Ai so well and yet he failed. But what is worth noting is that whatever Akane concluded are based on her assumptions and they could have some lies in them too. Oshi no Ko loves to toy around.
Oshi no Ko is shaping up to having a blasting premiere. The new trailer just hypes up even more while obviously omitting the core of show. The idol portions are no doubt going to be amazing. That short scene of Aqua and Ruby cheering was so adorable. I can't wait for it.
Throughout the trailers and in other promotial material there is a distinctive emphasis put on the eyes which is both narratively and aesthetically important. I adore this so much, it shines like a star would which is a crucial aspect of the work.
There is not much to be said about series without going into details, there is a reason why it is this heavily anticipated other than having a very good source material, being handled by great team at Doga Kobo. That is without a doubt a key component why it looks this good.
Blue Lock never manages to fail at delivering suspense and emotional beats be it through directing, seiyuu performance or music. This was abudantly clear during Bachira's backstory and I felt captivated by how it was told to the viewers.
Named after Bachira the episode first wrapped up the recent cliffhanger with use of clever emotional music and tense faces that both showed the egoism of victors and the anguish of fallen. The scenes felt reminiscent of what the titular Bachira had experienced in the past.
For some the bigger shook may have been who got picked but others could very well may have gotten a cricial hit witnessing the harsh words of Nagi towards his dear friend, thou ruthless and cold they may be, what ultimately has to occur is self reflection and ability to grow.
