In his no-confidence motion speech, Home Minister Amit Shah claimed that the opposition changed its name from UPA to INDIA because the UPA was associated with “scams” and mentioned a number of alleged scandals: Bofors, 2G spectrum, Coal, Adarsh, National Herald, Vadra-DLF etc.… https://t.co/kt8pBBmbFrtwitter.com/i/web/status/1…
As for the 2G case, it makes for some fascinating reading. Note that the trial and judgement occurred during the Modi government:
As for the coal allocation “scam”, the sole criminal accusation against a Congress party official — Dr Manmohan Singh, believe it or not — was rightly thrown out by a CBI court in 2017.
Remember the Adarsh scam regarding the allotment of flats in the Adarsh Cooperative Housing Society in Colaba? Seems naive to worry about luxury flat allocations at a time when PM Modi has steered billions in business towards his close friend Adani.

.@narendramodi describes #AyushmanBharat#PMJAY as the world’s largest healthcare scheme, providing ₹5 lakh insurance cover to 50 cr people.
Turns out it covers fewer people than previous schemes did and the premium isn't enough for ₹5 lakh. Here's a closer look. 1/n
PMJAY covers 10.7 cr families, compared to 11.2 cr covered by previous schemes.
Take Maharashtra, where 2.3 cr families were in a state plan in 2017-18. PMJAY only covers 84 lakh. Modi gets to hog credit rebranding it #AyushmanBharat, paying only 22% of the premium. Sweet. 2/n
As for the ₹5 lakh cover, the ₹1,100 premium (centre pays 60%) is way too little, and the actual cost could bankrupt state govts.
Chhattisgarh calculates this low premium only covers ₹50,000, and a state trust (with zero central contribution) pays all claims above this. 3/n
