There is alot of discussion on what the belief of "Wahdat Al Wujud"(Oneness of being) means exactly. For some clarification here is the explanation of the belief as understood by rationalist akbarian theologians:

Existence itself is not just a concept within the mind with no extra mental referents in the external world. The concept of existence also refers to something in the external world which really exists, which is the reality of existence.

Unlimited, Absolute existence not restricted by any considerations, which is identical to God.

Furthermore, creation starts to exist(have existence) through acquiring a specific type relation to God who is Existence, such that the existence which existent creations have is God(existence).

In this way creation is wholly dependent on God in order to exist, since their existing and having existence is through their relation to existence which is God.

In addition to this, even the identity of created dependent things is wholly dependent on God. For creation occurs through Unlimited, Absolute, Undetermined existence(God) Determining/Limiting/Privating himself, without himself ever becoming Determined/Limited,

and thus this process manifests creation such that created things are Gods Manifestations/Reflections. For created things are but lower degrees of existence which have limitations/determinations(an analogy here would be the spatial limits and boundaries of spatial objects for ex)

while God is Absolute existence which is not a lower degree of existence like creation, and which also has no limits or determinations.

Due to creations in of themselves being but limited manifestations of God per what they truly are, even their own identities are dependent on God as stated before.

Wahdat Al Wujud is not pantheism for God is not the created universe and the created universe is not God, God is Undetermined existence, while creation is Limited determined lower degrees of existence.

Wahdat al Wujud is not incarnationism for God does not become his creations,

his creations are manifestations/reflections of him, and the reflection is not the reflected. The identity of God is not the identity of creation, and the identity of God never becomes the identity of creation(incarnation)

Wahdat Al Wujud thus is but a beautiful tapestry of reality which truly showcases the complete dependence of creation for God in all its aspects.

A belief which has been demonstrated by the rationalist akbarian theologians by aqli burhan, but which can only ever be fully appreciated and grasped, through spiritual purification and mystical unveiling.
