How to regrow your hair
(a thread) Image
First things first

❉ This is not medical advice

❉ I will make this clear from the very beginning: if you have hair loss under < 8-10 years, it is possible to reverse it and regrow you hair. Image
❉ Both men and women experience forms of hair loss, this doesn't necessarily mean that the root cause is the same nor the approach.

❉ We will start with understanding how the hair follicle grows and the physiology behind its growth. Image
Just like the seasons, hair grows in phases or cycles:

• The Anagen phase: is the growth phase. The majority of your scalp hair is in this phase and will remain in this phase for 2 – 7 years.

• The Catagen phase: is a transition phase in which hair stops growing. Basically,… https://t.co/xNZiytR1WFtwitter.com/i/web/status/1…

There are different kinds of hair loss such as:

1. Male Pattern Baldness (MPB - FPB): affects predominantly the crown of the scalp and the front. Image
2. Alopecia Areate (AA): is an autoimmune condition related to thyroid and low vitamin D receptor (VDR) activity. Although the hair falls out, the follicle remains intact and thus hair can regrow. Image
3. Telogen effluvium (TE): is an acquired, diffuse type of hair loss that occurs due to an abnormal shift from anagen to telogen phase in scalp hair follicles, leading to premature loss of hair. Image
So what’s causing hair loss?

Is it genetics?

Usually (to keep it short) hair loss is a combination of high stress, gut issues, hypothyroidism, and scalp tension.
The actual root causes of hair loss are:

- Elevated scalp tension
- Elevated cortisol levels
- Elevated aromatase activity
- Elevated estrogen levels
- Elevated prolactin levels
- Elevated serotonin
- Elevated free fatty acid and PUFA oxidation
- Elevated prostaglandins and COX2… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
Before we start giving solutions to regrow your hair, let's have an objective look why NOT to take hair loss medication like 1) Finasteride and 2) Minoxidil.
Why not Rogaine/Minoxidil:

**Rogaine** contains about 5% Minoxidil, which is the active component of the drug. It is usually recommended for men and applied topically as a foam to treat male pattern baldness.

The 2% Minoxidil solution is used for women. Minoxidil is… https://t.co/idu3j2dUK1twitter.com/i/web/status/1…

The side effects include unwanted facial/body hair, dizziness, fast/irregular heartbeat, fainting, chest pain, swelling of hands/feet, unusual weight gain, tiredness, and difficulty breathing especially when lying down.
Why not Finasteride/Propecia:

**Finasteride** is a medication for the treatment of enlarged prostate and hair loss in men. The drug is also known as **Propecia** and belongs to the class of drugs known as the 5 alpha-reductase inhibitors, meaning that it will lower DHT by… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
Let us have a look at the side effects:

- skin rashes
- breast tenderness and enlargement (elevated prolactin)
- depression, anxiety
- abnormal ejaculation
- testicular pain (aww)
- brain fog & headaches
- vision problems
- erectile dysfunction
- and loss of interest in seggs Image
The follicle requires certain things for its maintenance and growth:

- It needs **glucose** for fuel and cannot use another energy source other than glucose. Sugar is the primary source of fuel for the hair follicle.

- The hair follicles rely on **thyroid hormone** for its… https://t.co/fdXt2KUeNJtwitter.com/i/web/status/1…

So the number #1 thing you can do to regrow hair is to reduce elevated stress hormones.

Step 1. Reduce Stress

Hormones like cortisol degrade the collagen protein matrix and GAG’s (glycosaminoglucans) in which hair follicles are embeded.

Lower stress:
1. Salt from the sea

Step 2. Gut health

Hair follicles cannot regrow if the gut is injured.

How to heal the gut?
1. Reduce stress (see above)
2. Increase stomach acid
3. Increase protein intake and glycine and glutamine
4. Address bacterial overgrowth
5. Sunlight regulates microbiome positively… https://t.co/oiZXmEL4lTtwitter.com/i/web/status/1…

Step 3. Thyroid optimization

So if thyroid applied topically increases hair thickness and growth, it would be worth it to invest in your metabolic health.

Most thyroid issues stem from the inability to convert T4 (inactive) into T3 (active hormone). This happens in the liver… https://t.co/GPzHzonagotwitter.com/i/web/status/1…

Step 4. Lower estrogen & detox xenoestrogens

(Xeno) estrogens are metabolized in the liver. Both have been shown to impair thyroid and testosterone production.

Nutrient needed for detox are:
- Choline
- Betaine
- Folate
- B12
- Vit A
- Taurine
- Glycine
- NAC
- Sulfur

Step 5. Increase circulation

The best thing you can do to regrow your hair is to increase the circulation towards the scalp.

1. Scalp massage
2. Rosemary oil
3. Onion juice

Are backed by science to increase circulation to the follicle.

BEE BREAD is an alchemical creation of bee pollen & honey…

Here is why you can’t just scoop beepollen - it simply won’t digest (a thread 🧵) Image
Bees don’t eat beepollen bcs the double cell wall prevents the pollen from being digested.

Bee pollen have a double-layered protective cell wall.

The internal cell wall is called intine, while the external one is called exine as you can see on this picture below. Image
Bee bread is very bioavailable, as the pollen are integrated in the beehive’s matrix, mixed with saliva, yeasts and honey - starting a fermentarion process that breaks down these cell walls. Image

SKINCARE 101

The skin is a reflection of internal health. A thread on how to have healthy radiant skin (🧵) Image
Intestines, microbiome and liver dictate the health condition of the skin.

This implies that any type of skin issue can be traced back to one of these organs, and any type of treatment that masks skin issues is not root cause oriented Image
For radiant skin, we have to approach dual-directional (holistically)

1) INTERNAL

~ Lungs
~ Toxicity
~ Nutrition

2) EXTERNAL

The archetypes are related to neurotransmitters:

King - GABA

Warrior - Dopamine

Magician - Acetylcholine

Lover - Serotonin
The King archetype is the centerpiece as it brings the other three archetypes in balance. Without the King, there would be chaos within the kingdom, within oneself, and among the other archetypes. GABA is the main balancing/grounding neurotransmitter.
GABA qualities:
- 'To Be'
- the selfless King
- brings order in chaos
- consistency (generative)
- peace of mind
- centeredness
- setting boundaries
- anti anxiolytic
