@token2049 is around the corner.

Sep 11 to Sep 17, 2023 will be a busy week in #Singapore with pre-events lined up for #token2049 followed by F1 Street Circuit #singaporegrandprix2023 co-organized by #SingaporeTourismBoard.

Here are the list of #Dos and #DoNots while you are visiting Singapore.

All the below tips will help you enjoy #singapore as a #traveler and not as a #tourist.

Why am I sharing this?

I have been a resident of #Singapore for past 20 years and am happy to share some tips that could enhance your experience and also save some money.

I will share tips from the time you land in @ChangiAirport and depart from here.
1. Most hotels in Singapore allow you to check-in only after 2 PM local time.

In case, your flight lands early morning, do not fret.

Once you exit from airport, stay within the transit area and do NOT exit the immigration.

There are transit hotels that allow you to have a nice shower for approx. SGD 20 | More info is at
2. While you take shower, do not worry about your luggage being stranded. Changi airport has excellent processes.

If you exit after your shower, head straight to one of the luggage handlers and they will guide you to your luggage.

You are covered.
3. Once you find your luggage, 2 things you should NOT do

a. Do NOT buy SIM card in the airport. You will get it at approx. 40% cheaper when you buy in the city. Just head to a 7-11 shop, show your passport and they will give you a new SIM card.
b. Do not waste money on taxis unless you have too much luggage or sharing with others. Instead, buy a #EZLink card that allows you to take a train from Changi airport to one of the MRT nearer to your hotel.

One can use the same #EZlink card to travel on buses and trains when you are in the city.
4. Plan your pre-events, side-events through

Remember to top up your #EZlink card to travel to various side event locations.

It is very convenient. Paying for a 1 time ticket is very expensive in Singapore. You need to have exact change. No change will be given in the bus in case you are carrying a big note like SGD 5 or SGD 10.week.token2049.com
5. Singapore has excellent food choices. In case, you are not well-fed at the side events, head to a nearest food court to savior local delicacies and enjoy local food as a traveler.

Some of the recommendations within the token 2049 event location are Lau Pa Sat and food court at Novena MRT.

In doubt, ask a local for recommendations.
6. Hotel prices will be insane. Also Singapore does not have many options for home stay like other countries.

#airbnb may be a good option but better to book early.

Where possible, look to share hotels rooms to save money.

There are plenty of hostels in Bugis and Little India areas that are nearer to #token2049 venue Marina Bay Sands.

Do NOT delay until the last minute to book the hotels.
7. #networking is a key takeaway at #token2049

Remember most of the attendees end up selling each other.

Plan your meetups in such a way you gain the most out of your spending during this week.
8. Singapore has tropical climate.

Remember to keep yourself #hydrated all the time.

In Singapore, you can drink directly from your hotel tap and it is safe to drink.

Keep a water bottle that you can refill at various locations to beat the humid conditions in Singapore.
9. You get better rates for foreign exchange in the city than at the airport.

Most of the international cards are accepted in various locations.

In case, you are visiting local food courts to savior local cuisine, you may have to still carry cash.

If you need urgent cash, you can withdraw cash from ATMs.
10. After the event is done and dusted, it is time to go home.

If you have an early morning flight, do not waste money paying for the hotel for that night; instead do this.

a. Check out from the hotel
b. Leave the luggage at the concierge
c. Finish your business for the day
d. Collect luggage post your dinner and head straight to @ChangiAirport
e. Most airlines allow pre-checkin until late.
f. Post check-in, clear immigration and enter transit area
g. You will be amazed at the kind of facilities you will find inside transit area (rest areas, food courts)
h. Explore other terminals through the sky train
i. Reach the gate around 1 hour before the flight departure and you are covered.

My kids started an online store to sell their merchandise like colored pencils and bracelets made of beads at the age of 8 and 10.

In April 2016, I started @KratosInnoLabs at the peak of my corporate career, just a month before I turned 40.
My well wishers, friends and family keep asking me why?

Naturally, #entrepreneurship is not easy and not for faint hearted. It is 99% hard work coupled with 1% luck.

More than 96% start ups could not sustain the pandemic.
We sustained.
One answer that I love to give to my well wishers is that "When I turn 50, I do not want to turn back and think why I did not attempt my own startup that could bring a change to the society through affordable use of technology"

Every human being has 3 basic needs:

Food
Shelter
Clothing

It is no wonder why we bet #blockchain and #web3 for solving centuries old issues in #food supply chain via #foodlens and @AhanWeb3

@KratosInnoLabs
Let us look at the pain points through a #leaking #funnel view
@AhanWeb3 @KratosInnoLabs Now let us understand the market size. You will be surprised that taking just a credit request and sale request as 2 transactions, about 1.4 Billion transactions happen in Agri Sector.

We have not taken couple of more transactions that happen in pre-harvest stage.

Omissions?

In my 7 years of #Perseverance as a #blockchain platform #founder of @KratosInnoLabs the mistakes that I did and you do NOT have to repeat are:

1. For the initial couple of years, chased investors (should have chased customers)

Continued in this thread...
2. Was an absolute introvert and the world never knew we existed for almost 6 years ( last year during this time, started attending lot of conferences and started speaking at various #web3 events). Spoke at #nastech , #w3summit , #wowsummit and @web3conf_india last week.
#hustle
@web3conf_india 3. Focused too much on building for initial 2 to 3 years; Ideally, we should have gone Live with limited features instead of looking for a full featured platform.

In platform business, always release minimal features, gather feedback and reiterate.
