As the author themselves writes, Chasten was heavily bullied in school, homeless for a time after coming out to his family at 18 and was sexually assaulted soon after. Not sure the dig at "trauma" is particularly necessary
This horrible comment about their children is something you've probably seen by now, so not even going to comment more there
As for the stuff on Pete's tenure, they're true but probably have little to do with him- generally why mayors make for bad candidates!
Very funny to see this in Current affairs given that those Black voters mainly went to Biden, who CA frequently accuses of being a segregationist worse than Trump
Also the OTHER horrifying quote about their kids, lovely lovely, and a dig at ...choosing a partner you like??
Yes, children's and YA literature are invented categories, as opposed to every other category which was gifted to us by Amon-Ra
Especially funny as the article ends with Nair mentioning that *she's* writing a YA book about coming out
This is relatively fair, but Chasten is not trans himself so I obviously understand why he wouldn't focus on something he doesn't know first hand about in an autobiography
How dare he emphasize that his parents were hard-working, lower middle class people
Again it's really funny how people view the hard work propaganda in the US, given that most socialist states valued work for work's sake even harder in their propaganda (though Nair is anarchist)
Again, fair, but this is a YA autobiography. Chasten was far too young for this fight, and I fail to see how the quote there denies that the fight was necessary - especially given that the radical activists still relied on progressive politicians to enact meaningful change
We finally get to the worst part of this, even worse than the comments on the Buttigieg twins
This relies on some pretty terrible conspiracy theories with little proof. The Jimenez book alleges that Shepard was an international drug dealer and the gay lover of his killers
It's entirely possible that he used drugs, like many young people in Laramie (and his murderers), but both of the above allegations were ridiculous and unsourced and form the core of the book (which Wypijevski praised as well)
I did read Wypijevski's article cited here, and while it's far better and makes some interesting points, it's basically trying to humanise the killers (and at points, justify them, such as by implying the real motive was class, or that hate crime laws don't center perpetrators)
Wypijevski and Jimenez both seem to be queer anarchists as well, and strongly oppose hate crime legislation
Wypijevski goes further, seemingly believing no crimes exist under capitalism, defending Woody Allen, Anthony Weiner and pedophile priests

I couldn't decide which configuration I liked better - whomever has US on their side likely wins (especially the Allies), and I can see US/China and Japan going either way
Ask about my reasoning for any country, some were pretty close
Here's how I see the peace shaking out: First an Allied win
A Cold War between US/UK and their fascist Mediterranean allies vs Stalin, Mao and Thallman and the socialist bloc, with Poland completely destroyed and France split in two, as former Central Powers regain lands
Okay the discourse has inspired me, here's a thread on what redesigns I'd use for US state flags🧵
The goal is to have recognizable, normal flags (so long, seal on bedsheet flags!) without turning it into hypersimplified dystopia. References to important state symbols and events are a bonus. Redesigns found online, all credit to amazing artists who drew them
Starting off strong, I would change nothing about Alabama, Alaska and Arizona. Alabama's flag is perfectly serviceable, while Alaska and Arizona have some of the best in the world
I remember a tweet a while back about how some people see purges as a necessary evil, while others seem to revel in them as the main goal of their politics and this seems to be the second case
Sure politics is dirty, but a socialist party executing liberals and socdems has probably lost the plot and is a laughable idea in the 21st century west
Person who thinks mass slaughter is only "less okay" and identified as an anarchist
TOP 7 Reasons why Hogwarts Legacy is a bad game and you should play Paradox Interactive games instead
A 🧵:
1) Unlike in Crusader Kings, you cannot seduce neither your sister nor your daughter. In fact, the game lacks any incest at all, making it baffling why anyone would play it
While you can ride a bird-horse thing, you cannot appoint him to be your chancellor or fuck him either!
2) While the Harry Potter universe shows blatant lack of respect for native cultures, you were never able to personally wipe them our. But fear not, because Europa Universalis exists!
Similarly, the game's Astronomy lessons are incredibly boring without comet stability hits
Legendary Serbian actress Branka Veselinović passed away at 105 - she was the oldest active actress in the world!
Croatian football player and manager Ćiro Blažević also passed away, most notable for winning 🥉 with Croatia at 1998 World Cup
Ćiro was also a big believer in friendship between Yugoslav nations, especially Croats and Serbs. He was a famous gentleman, and there are thousands of anecdotes about him, but my favourite one was when he was criticised for taking players to church during socialist rule
His response was "I have three orthodox Serbs doing a three finger cross and four Muslims praying to Allah on my team, the rest I raise as good Catholic boys. I have three Gods on my side- that's why we can't lose!"
