Thread: 1/ Karim Lala Telgi, the infamous scammer behind #Scam2003, had a life story that I had the unique opportunity to hear firsthand in 2013. He was out on parole for his daughter's wedding in Shivaji Nagar, Bengaluru, and I met him through Senior Advocate Shankarappa.
/Shankarappa arranged an appointment with Telgi, who penned over 8,000 pages about his life. Little did I know that Telgi was an incredibly talkative n outspoken individual. We spoke for about 4 hours that day. He shared his rise n fall, revealing how the corrupt system aided him
/ Despite his illness, Telgi was candid during our conversation. He even promised me the rights to his biopic once it was complete. I wished his daughter well and left the wedding place, thinking little of it.
/ I checked with Shankarappa about the book over the years, but it seemed Telgi was still writing it. Time passed, and I forgot about our conversation.
/ Then, on October 27, 2017, the news broke: "Stamp paper scam convict Abdul Karim Lala Telgi Dead." Our untold story remained buried, despite Telgi's revelations about influential names involved.
/ Now, I wonder if @SonyLIV will dare to showcase the real picture of #KarimLalaTelgi's life and the web of corruption he unveiled. It's a story that deserves to be told. Hope #Scam2023 has all of what I heard from Telgi firsthand.
