Background - the Rhodesian bush war was fought mainly by two armed forces, ZIPRA - ZAPU and ZANLA - ZANU. ZANLA was predominantly Shona whilst ZIPRA had cadres across the linguistic and tribal divide.
2/ During the war, the two armed wings clashed now and again, there was little if any cooperation between these two. Animosity was rife. Both Zanla and Zipra claim to have masterminded the Salisbury fuel depots bombings.
