Day 5 | Episode 5 - The Dronacharya's entry

📍Today's Character Introduction

•Dronacharya - Teacher of Royal kuru princes
•Eklavya - Tribal guy (Not Royal)
•Parshuram - Teacher of Bhishma & Drona

Now Bhishma wants a great teacher for Pandavas & Kauravas in Hastinapur to make all of them, skilled in arms & weaponaries.

One random day, all kuru brothers were playing with wooden ball & it fell into the dark well. They all were unable to remove that ball from the well.

Suddenly a Brahmin walked in & said them while laughing that "Aren't you all are Kuru Princess & not even able to remove small wooden ball from well, haha"

He started doubting their training & Tells them that, he will remove that ball using bows & arrows.

With his extremely high skills, Brahmin removes that ball from dark well. All Kuru Princes get stunned & asks him, who are you?

Brahmin replies, "I'm Dronacharya, the son of Rishi Bhardwaja".

Some of the boys ran to the palace & told about this incident.

Bhishma was already aware of teaching skills of Drona & he gets really happy that, he finally found the perfect teacher.

Great Parshuram taught Bhishma(highly skilled armour) as well as Drona. So Bhishma was aware about Drona's excellence. He offers him position of, teacher of the Royal Kuru Princess.

Poor Dronacharya accepts the offer but he also had some alternative motive behind this.

Drona settles down in Hastinapur with his wife & son Ashwatthama.

He started training & decided some individuals to focus on particular skills.

Drona lets them pick, weapon of their choice

-Yudhishtira focuses on the spear
-Arjuna focuses on archery
-Bheema focuses on Mace
-Nakul, Sahdev focuses on swords
-Duryodhan focuses on Mace too

One day to tests then, he takes all to the jungle

Asks them to hit birds eye sitting on the tree. He asks every individual that "What can you see there?"

Except Arjuna everyone replies that, "They can see bird, trees, skies". Only Arjuna said that he sees only eye of the bird.

Impressed Drona asks him to shoot & he shoots perfectly. Drona says to Arjuna, you are my favourite student, I want you to be the greatest Archer ever.

Arjuna used to practice alot. He was so skilled that he used to shoot perfectly in the dark also.

One day during training of Kurus, one tribal (Nishad) guy walked in to meet Drona.

He said to Drona, "I'm EKLAVYA, I want learn the archery skills from you, please take me as your student".

Drona denies & says, I can teach only to Royal origin students. Eklavya leaves.

After few months, Drona takes all his royal students for hunting trip in the forest.

One day, dog from the Kuru camp goes deep inside the forest & finds out clay statue of Dronacharya. Dog sees Eklavya practicing in front of that statue.

Dog starts continuously barking at him, annoyed Eklavya shoots arrows in the mouth of the dog without even hurting him.

Dogs goes back to kuru camp. All Kurus & Drona gets shocked seeing the way dog was shut down using arrows.

Even Arjuna couldn't do that.

Drona asks dog to take him to the Hut of that guy who shot him.

Drona & Kurus gets shocked seeing Eklavya practicing in front of statue of Drona.

But Drona sees, Arjuna got depressed & quite insecure of Eklavya, seeing his archery skills.

Arjuna explains Drona that, if Eklavya(more skilled than Arjuna) is there, I won't be the greatest Archer of all as you promised.

Drona understands Arjuna & does a strategic move.

He asks EKLAVYA to pay him guru-dakshina as he considered Drona as his guru. Eklavya agrees.

Drona asks him thumb of his right hand. Shocking. Because Eklavya won't be able to do archery after cutting his right thumb.

Eklavya agrees obediently & cuts his right thumb next moment. Gives it to Dronacharya.

Drona gets stunned by loyalty of Eklavya but he didn't express his emotions.

That's the end of DAY 5.
