This Lok Sabha seat saw a high-voltage campaign. Congress MLA Satej Patil openly showed his support to Shiv Sena candidate Sanjay Mandlik. Not only this, the entire system was set up in favor of Mandlik in a secret manner.

(19/n)
While the fight was Sanjay Mandlik vs Dhananjay Mahadik, actually the discussion was about Bunty and Munna. In that, two slogans “'Aamcha Tharlay” and “Me Bi Dhyanaat Thevlay” became popular in the campaign.

(20/n)
The whole district is aware of the political rivalry of Munna and Bunty. However they worked together in 2014 Lok Sabha elections and as a result Mahadik won the election in the Modi wave. In the 2014 assembly election, Amal Mahadik who is the cousin of Dhananjay

(21/n) Image
filed his nomination against Bunty Patil from Kolhapur South as a BJP candidate. Bunty Patil was defeated from Kolhapur South. This enraged Bunty and he took a vow to defeat Mahadik. Bunty made a comeback by defeating Mahadevrao Mahadik in MLC elections 2015.

(22/n)
In the 2014 elections, Mahadik had a lead from Kolhapur South and Karvir due to Bunty’s support. In this election, Mahadik trailed from all the 6 assembly segments. He trailed by more than 40000 votes in Kolhapur South and a similar lead in Karvir.

(23/n)
Mandlik got a lead from Kagal as he belongs to Kagal. In 2014, Mahadik had got a lead from Radhanagari but this time he trailed by almost 40000 votes. A lead from North was expected for Mandlik.

(24/n)
In the 2019 Assembly elections INC won 3 segments - Kolhapur South, North and Karvir whereas NCP won two segments - Chandgad and Kagal. Shiv Sena won Radhanagari. The Shiv Sena MLA is with Eknath Shinde. Hasan Mushrif who is Kagal MLA and Chandgad MLA is with Ajit Pawar.

This seat will cause problems in seat sharing in both the alliances. Every party wants to fight this seat. SSUBT will want to fight this seat as they won this seat in 2019. Sanjay Pawar is interested from SSUBT.

(26/n)
INC will be wanting this seat as they have good power in this Lok Sabha. There was news that Kadsiddheshwar Maharaj might fight on BJP ticket. Sanjay Mandlik who is with Shinde will want to fight as he is the sitting MP.

(27/n)
Both the NCP factions will also be interested to fight this seat. There was news that Chh. Shahu might fight on NCP ticket. In short, all parties and factions are interested in fighting this seat.

(28/n)
