EXCLUSIVE: Where will you watch Houston Rockets games (and presumably Astros games, too) on TV (or streaming) next season?
Say hello to 'Space City Home Network.'
A thread:
As widely reported, AT&T Sports Network's parent company is leaving the RSN (regional sports network) business. Multiple reports have the Rockets and Astros trying to buy their regional television rights (possibly a joint purchase).
A Houston Sports Network, LLC, has filed a trademark for the name and logo of "Space City Home Network."
Houston Sports Network, LLC, is located at the same address as Toyota Center, home of the Rockets.
The network purpose, according to application, is the "Streaming audiovisual and multimedia content in the field of sports via a global computer network and the internet;" & "telegraphic, cable and satellite transmission broadcasting services in the field of sports."
The Astros involvement? Not clear. However, the attorney of record, L. Marshall, filed a trademark for the Astros' Houston Open golf tournament back in 2020.
But there's more.
We also found an "X" handle, formerly Twitter, of Space City Home Network: @spacecityhn.
It's parked with a Houston Open name and is following only one other account: Major League Baseball's.
