It’s UPSC Essay Exam tomorrow.

Sharing some ideas to “Make Your Essay SAY”

1/
The most important things first:

1.Never Say More than Necessary

to the Reader

structure is permanent

4.Mould You Raw Material (Content)

5.Keep the tone of the Essay humble and Polite (use of may, might)

2/2.Talk
3.No
Remember that the Best Essay Writer is like “Munna Bhai MBBS”.

Use of Gandhi Giri without using hardcore words of Mahatma Gandhi.

Yes, the exam’s tough.

Yes, it’s becoming tougher to pin point what’s important.

Yes, the process needs to be rigorous to choose the finest of the future officers.

And a lot of other Yes’s that point to the direction that UPSC needs to keep its standards high.

But.

Sharing a story that puts professors of Economics to shame.

Imagined by a simple writer of stories.
In a way, professors fail to do.

A mind blowing example of why Rich are Rich and Poor Poor.

The story of Captain Samuel Vimes.

1/
Fantasy writer Terry Pratchett wrote a novel “Men at Arms” in 1993.

In the novel, there was a captain by the name of Sam Vimes.

He says that “poverty causes GREATER EXPENSES to the poor than to those who are richer”.

And is the reason poor stay poor.

He explains further.

2/
He says “the reason the RICH were so RICH, was because they managed to SPEND LESS money.”

He takes the example of boots 🥾 🥾

An increasing number of students term themselves as underachiever, dissatisfied, failure.

Warren Bennis' very appropriately and captivatingly wrote:
"Structured education and society often get in the way of leadership".

Sharing some crazy good lessons from his book.

1/
Bennis wrote a beautiful book "Leaders".

Harvard till date calls Bennis as the best author on Leadership.

Bennis said “what we need to know gets lost in what we are told we should know.”

"Leaders" written in 1985 forever changed the way we imagine Leaders.

2/
He wrote:
"Leaders have no interest in proving themselves, but an abiding interest in expressing themselves".

He wrote:
"Proving oneself implies a limited or static view of the self".

For leaders, "life is not a competition but a process of blossoming".

Woww 🤩 blossoming
