➡️ Pornography: 90% of online videos contain physical and sexual violence, report warns
Violence, acts of barbarism, child abuse... the findings are alarming.
The High Council for Equality between Men and Women is submitting a report this Wednesday on what it calls “pornocriminality” to Minister Bérangère Couillard, responsible for equality between women and men.
Women who suffer verbal, physical, sexual violence, even barbaric acts or rape. Sometimes unprecedented violence suffered by women in porn films, but violence "which is not cinema", warns the High Council for Equality between men and women.
This Wednesday, the body submits a report on what it calls “pornocriminality” to the Minister Delegate in charge of Equality between women and men, Bérangère Couillard.
And its findings are therefore alarming: 90% of the videos available online on specialized sites contain physical or verbal violence , and are therefore criminally reprehensible, indicates franceinfo.
➡️ Tens of thousands of videos analyzed
For several months, HCE experts studied tens of thousands of videos broadcast on the four main pornographic platforms (Pornhub, XVideos, Xnxx, Xhamster), some sites counting 14 million monthly visitors.
It appears that 90% of these videos present acts of physical, verbal and sexual violence, and "are therefore criminally reprehensible" , some falling "under the legal definition of acts of torture and barbarism", according to the report.
Women are the main victims. “The violence is real. It’s not cinema,” assure the HCE experts.
The study also identifies 1.3 million child pornography videos. “These videos trivialize and eroticize incest and child crime,” according to the HCE.
➡️ A “school of sexist violence”, women “left in a lamentable state”
This“school of sexism and sexist violence that pornography has become must stop for women, and for the people who watch it”, calls Sylvie Pierre-Brossolette, the president of the HCE, on France Inter this Weds.
For her, these videos present acts of “violence [which are] not simulated”. “These are real sufferings and real women, it’s not a montage,” she recalls.
The president of the HCE evokes the presence in certain videos of several "illegal practices", acts of extreme violence, such as "gang bang, when several men penetrate women in several orifices at the same time, tearing these orifices and leaving the women in a pitiful state."
Sylvie Pierre-Brossolette also denounces"prolapse, organ descent" due to an anus or vagina destroyed after violent penetrations.“It’s torture,” she warns.
The HCE also considers that “pornographic industry contracts are legally void”. “We do not have the right to contract on the exploitation” of the human body nor to “consent to our own torture”, explains Sylvie Pierre-Brossolette.
➡️ “The factory of future rapists, future perpetrators of feminicide”
The president of the High Council for Equality therefore considers that "there is no reason to tolerate in the France of 2023 these illegalities which subject women to unbearable torture and which make minors see these shows".
“It’s the factory of future rapists, future perpetrators of feminicide ,” warns Sylvie Pierre-Brossolette. She wonders "what are the public authorities doing" in the face of this reality, even denouncing a certain "impunity".
She calls into question "the very powerful lobbies" of the pornographic industry, and in particular "platforms which constantly explain [that it is] about freedom of creation, However,
However, the president of the HCE insists on the fact that“sexual freedom ends where attacks on the integrity of the human body begin”.
➡️ The HCE proposes several prevention and repression measures
HCE experts make 10 proposals to the government.
Among them, the attribution of an administrative police role to Pharos, the platform of the Ministry of the Interior, to request the removal or blocking of any scene affecting the integrity of the person.
They also ask to give the power to Arcom to block pornographic sites that do not implement age controls, to regulate the access of minors to these platforms, or to establish a right to withdraw content from sexual nature to any person filmed who requests it.
Finally, the HCE recommends three sex education sessions at school, including a critique of pornography.
"Today sex is a massive, globalised business. Whilst revenues amounting to several billion dollars are concentrated in the hands of a few multinationals that own the tube sites,
the number of "producers" (whose content is necessary to feed these sites) has multiplied, and there is no longer any real distinction between the socalled professional sector and the booming amateur sector.
These producers have no compunction in exploiting the economic and psychological vulnerability of young - even very young - women, and in shooting content in deplorable conditions.
"If we did not make the assumption that people do “whatever seems good to them at the time” depending on their situation we might, for example,
make the mistake of assuming that men and women who are submissive in BDSM play are always submissive, regardless of what situation they are in."
There are MANY people in the BDSM community who TREAT submissives as if they are always submissive or have to always be submissive in any situation in which they are in contact with a dominant.
"The fact that I am linked to the BDSM community through working in latex- and fetish fashion has most likely helped me not only to find volunteers but also to make them feel comfortable in telling me about the community & its issues.
"On the other hand, researching a known field increases the risk of a biased analysis. Comparing my link to the BDSM community to those of Fulkerson, Surprise or Ortmann, however, presents this risk as relatively minute."
"Fulkerson is herself an active participant in BDSM, as is Surprise. Ortmann is a psychotherapist and sex therapist with a particular focus on BDSM and kink."
OM demands prison sentences for human trafficking in the Red Light District: 'Lovely words were interspersed with insults' parool.nl/amsterdam/om-e…
"The OM is demanding prison sentences of 32 and 54 months against two Bulgarian men suspected of human trafficking. The two suspects, aged 44 and 32, are said to have exploited several women who they let work for them in the Amsterdam Red Light District."
The time of trafficking in women in the Red Light District is not over yet
"Crime, for example in the form of human trafficking, is still the order of the day in the Amsterdam Red Light District."
"Every year there are an estimated 3,000 victims of sexual exploitation in the Netherlands, including 1,300 minors. Sexual exploitation often takes place under the radar, out of everyone's sight. Criminal organizations also use hotels and holiday parks unnoticed."
"Human trafficking for sexual exploitation ('sex trafficking') takes place all over the world, even though many people think that sexual exploitation only occurs in poor or underdeveloped countries such as Thailand."
"In the Netherlands, for example, prostitution is legalized. This has led to a safe environment for people who choose to become prostitutes of their own free will."
