There's a lot I could say about this, but I hope people listen to this new interview with @rachelswilhelm about her album Jeremiah. In it we discuss how one of her songs addresses church leadership abuse... tent-talks.simplecast.com/episodes/bonus…
and the consequences that result when people attempt to address it in their communities, hold people accountable, and protect victims. What happens is they lose their jobs, lose their church communities, become ostracized pariahs...
and then have to endure online surveillance, scrutiny, and attack. Rachel did not know while recording this interview that the same thing was going to happen to her a month later. #churchabuse #churchtoo #acnatoo

"Helen's Story: Why I resigned," a new episode of the Wall of Silence podcast, the @ACNAtoo story. Helen served on the Bishop's Council of @MidwestAnglican as the sexual abuse of Mark Rivera was made known by Cherin and Joanna Rudenborg. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/ep-…
Her account details how Bishop Stewart Ruch and the Council dealt with Rivera's abuse and the abuse survivors, how Ruch stepped away from ministry (and why he ultimately returned), and why Helen eventually decided she needed to resign from the Council. open.spotify.com/show/21eGuihR5…
Her's is a story anyone in @The_ACNA, all clergy and laity need to listen to openly and be willing to reckon with. podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/wall-…
