'GODS' follows the story of Deft, leading up to his #Worlds2022 win with DRX.
The video starts with Deft arriving at his high school where he sits in a corner and looks over to Faker. Both players attended Mapo High School (but they were not in the same class IIRC)
We move into game, Deft is fighting a Blue buff and he then looks over and sees Faker as Zed killing Baron
This one might be a reference to 2013. Deft is looking at Faker as where he wants to be. Faker won Worlds in 2013, Deft stayed home
SKT vs RYL:
Couple of easter eggs in this shot. LoL Poster, Teemo Hat, Rammus plushie. Senna Ezreal Caitlyn splashes as well as an alpaca plushie.
Also a poster of Worlds 2013 (Faker attended, Deft didn't qualify with MVP blue).
Jinx and Vi Posters on the side, arcane news inc? riot pls
We move into Deft's first World Championship. Worlds 2014!
Deft is playing Lucian is on Samsung Blue, facing against PawN's Jayce on his sister team, Samsung White. PawN eliminates Deft in World Semifinals and goes onto win Worlds 2014
This is historically accurate, matches game 2 of semis:
PawN's Jayce vs Deft Lucian, you even get the melee hammer dunk
Next up, Worlds 2015. Deft is alongside Meiko on EDG. Deft on Sivir, Meiko on Thresh
Oh shit it's Fnatic Rekkles on Kennen, Deft is once again taken out.
This one isn't exactly accurate. They all played these champions but in different games
Rekkles played ADC Kennen in game 1 against Meiko's Thresh but Deft was on Jayce (It was not good)
Deft did play Sivir in game 3
FNC 3-0 EDG
We transition into Deft being eliminated again and again by a barrage of different skills, representing all the times he would be eliminated over and over again (Worlds 2016 Top 8, Worlds 2017 DNQ, Worlds 2018 Top 8, Worlds 2019 DNQ)
Back at Worlds, 2020 this time! Deft is now on DRX playing Senna, joined by teammates Keria (Braum) and Doran (Jax)
They face off against Damwon (Canyon Graves + Showmaker) in what was the expected result. Another 3-0 and another Quarterfinals exit for Deft
These are all historically accurate, despite not being all from the same game.
Deft and Keria played Senna Braum (Game 3):
Showmaker Played Syndra, Canyon Played Graves (Game 1):
Doran played Jax (Game 2):
I really want to highlight these shots of Deft
Throughout his career he was eliminated in quarters in FIVE worlds appearances (2015, 2016, 2018, 2020, 2021)
Deft was very emotional at Worlds 2022 when he finally made it past QFs, first time since 2014
'Anyone read this underdog story?'.
This marks the turning point, the start of the cinderella run that left everyone enamored.
Deft is lifted up by his DRX 2022 teammates to fight once more.
From left to right: Zeka, Pyosik, Beryl, Kingen
DRX enter Worlds 2022, very fitting that they come from below the arena as they had to battle all the way through play-ins to qualify to the main event.
They're greated by Deft's former teammate Meiko, playing Renata Glasc. Deft pulls out his axes, it's Draven time baby.
Down 0-2 against EDward Gaming, DRX make the comeback to make it past quarters.
This moment matches Game 3:
Semis next, where DRX faced off against GENG.
Deft is on Varus, up against another former teammate in Doran, playing a very big Renekton. Could say the size also symbolizes the state of that game (game 4). Doran was very ahead on Renekton but DRX managed to mount a comeback
Teamfight of the game 4 comeback moment to win the series and qualify to finals
Deft (on Caitlyn) climbs up to the top and finds another former teammate waiting for him. Keria (Karma)
Faker shows up as Viktor to knock him down
His team shows up to bail him out, the effects resemble Bard's Magical Journey.
From left to right here: Zeka (Azir), Pyosik (Hecarim), Deft (Caityln), Beryl (Bard), Kingen (Aatrox)
These are all historically accurate and match the final match of Worlds 2022. Faker and Keria were playing Viktor Karma too
The Winning Moment
At the end, we see several players looking at the Worlds trophy looking forward to Worlds 2023
We see:
Ayu (FURIA - CBLOL)
Hans Sama (G2 - LEC)
Blaber (C9 - LCS)
Josedeodo (Estral - LLA)
369 (JDG - LPL) - rolling 3 9's too
Chovy (GenG - LCK)
As a reminder, the animation takes months to make. It's impossible to predict every player that is going to make it.
I can't remember exactly when but I think back in April we were discussing with global on who to include for LEC
That said they got 7/9 right here, pretty good!
As a fun side tidbit, for the LEC portion I also suggested Jankos OIaf (H2K vs EDG, worlds 2016 groups. H2K would end up beating EDG in a tiebreaker to get first place).
But the team wanted to stick to elimination moments (SSW 2014, FNC 2015, DWG 2020) hence Rekkles
Anyways that's it folks, I am very sleep deprived so I might have missed a couple of things 😅 this one was not super high on easter eggs, was more about going over Deft's worlds runs over the years
Oh yeah I did miss this, in the 1:20 transition you also see his uniform change as all his eliminations from worlds are represented
At 1:23 you can see the KT jacket, don't think they show the HLE one though
One thing I've seen referenced by others that I missed is that the 1:20 transition shows Deft being eliminated by certain skills referring to past matches like Jayce's Shock Blast (KT Smeb 2016) and Xayah's Feathers (IG Jackeylove 2018)
I MEANT ROX SMEB****

Video starts by showing a banner representing T1's Worlds 2023 run, the first part seems to be symbolizing T1's climb with the whole climbing the mountain motif
Then we see their bracket stage wins:
• Against LNG (Quarterfinals), we see what looks like an Aphelios gun on the character on the right, maybe a Jarvan spear (maybe a reach there), but GALA played two games of Aphelios vs T1 including game 3
Semi finals vs JDG and that iconic game 3 moment. Ruler seems to have a bow which matches Varus obviously.
