Writing with terrible news today: After 35 years of publishing award-winning literature, @gettysburg has decided to permanently shutter the Review. We are absolutely devastated.
@gettysburg When the news was being broken to us, it was clear the powers-at-be had little understanding of who we are and what we do.
@gettysburg And they chose not to have a single conversation with us about our budget, our expenses, ways we could seek alternative funding, or how to further serve the campus. They care that little.
It didn't even OCCUR to them to try to sell the imprint.
We encourage you to reach out to the college’s president, Bob Iuliano, and provost, Jamila Bookwalla. Tell them what you think of this decision and the merits of publishing great literature.

Oh, and the college received a 10 million dollar donation LAST WEEK from a former English major. Where's that money going???
