Remember, Barack Obama and his staff of dumbass teenagers thought it would be a brilliant masterstroke to reverse decades of Middle East policy and align the U.S. toward Iran instead of the Sunni Gulf states. They congratulated themselves for thinking outside the box.
Obama and his people are still in charge behind the scenes, and they've never wavered on that policy. They thought Iran was a more stable partner for peace, a country they could do business with, less erratic than the Gulf powers, with a real shot at becoming regional hegemon.
Remember when John Kerry, now the "climate envoy" for Joe Biden, was working for the Ayatollah a few years ago? The Obama circus is filled with people who think realigning toward Iran was brilliant. They spent years cultivating contacts with the regime in Tehran.
That's one reason it was so easy for Iran to slip agents of influence into the Biden administration. Those people were 100% sympatico with the Obama machine's pro-Iran tilt. They were welcomed with open arms into the Biden team: breitbart.com/middle-east/20…
People are wondering what Hamas hoped to accomplish in the long run with such a wantonly savage attack, and why their buddies in Tehran would sign off on it, and probably help execute it. Didn't they realize Israel will level Gaza in retaliation?
Yes, of course they knew - but they're counting on their influence with the Obama group, which is still running Washington, to yell for peace and cease-fire every step of the way. Obama's drones will make sure the political price for Israel increases with every step they take.
Sure, a lot of Hamas guys will get clobbered in the first few days, but we've seen that before. By the end of the week, Iran's friends in Obama's inner circle will be pushing hard for de-escalation. That idiot Tony Blinken jumped the gun and did it already.
The Obamabots will absolutely work to prevent Israel from hitting Iran or widening the war beyond Gaza in any way. The likely result will be another grueling but inconclusive operation that weakens Hamas for a couple of years - but demoralizes the Israelis.
The demands for Israel to make concessions and revive that "two-state solution" will become deafening - and Obama's people will add an undercurrent of, "the next Hamas atrocity will be YOUR fault for not giving the Palestinians a state."
Meanwhile, a tough Israeli response will jeopardize the budding peace deals between Israel and several Middle Eastern states, which works to Iran's advantage. This savage Hamas atrocity was a bit of a gamble, but it was not taken blindly. The next steps have been gamed out. /end

All conflict boils down to a contest of will. Terrorism is a force multiplier for the will of evil. The objective is to engineer a steady retreat from civilization by demanding concessions, frequently negotiated by intermediaries or a "political wing" of the organization.
The terrorist's first goal is to demoralize civilization through fear and doubt. The fear is visceral, while doubt is sown by forcing civilization to compromise its principles and redraw its own borders. The first concession is granting legitimacy to the terrorists.
The terrorist commits acts that are beyond the pale, over the line, unforgivable - and then demands civilization redraw the line, legitimizing the tactics. 99% opposition to terrorism is worlds away from 100% opposition.
Those masks dropping away from much of the American Left were not very convincing to begin with. Left-wing ideology always becomes a blood cult, because it relies so heavily on the fantasy of using force to compel obedience from victims who were "evil" to resist.
The gulags were the point of communism, not a necessary utilitarian evil or tragic detour. Collectivist ideologies seek to romanticize the violent force they require to function. Revenge fantasies against class, race, religious, or ideological enemies are the easiest technique.
Leftists always pass through a stage of "punitive liberalism," the point at which a socialist mega-state begins explicitly rationalizing its polices as ways to get even with those who supposedly benefited unfairly due to privilege and exploitation of the Left's constituencies.
High-crime urban areas naturally lower the moral standards of people who would have been peaceful and law-abiding if order was maintained. People predictably lose faith in a society that abandons the streets to criminals. Why not steal, when everyone else does?
Loss of respect for law and society is naturally followed by loss of respect for other citizens. The presumption of goodwill that makes society function is destroyed. It is no longer logical, or safe, to assume that strangers mean well and will follow rules of good conduct.
Paranoia naturally settles in, because not only is everyone you meet a potential predator, but you cannot count on either law enforcement or fellow citizens to help you in a crisis. Everyone assumes they stand alone.
I would question any poll that shows Trump over Biden by double digits, but I suspect that if the election were held today, Trump would stand a good chance of winning. Of course, the election will not be held today.
Biden is at the lowest of low ebbs, a laughingstock at best and a menace at worst, constantly humiliated on the world stage while Americans groan under Bidenflation - and hear snotty lectures from his spin doctors about why they should stop complaining.
Worse still for Biden, all the ways in which he is manifestly a terrible president are economic issues that rebound to Trump's advantage. People remember how much better things were before Covid-19 and Joe Biden came along.
This comes hard on the heels of a poll that showed 47% of Democrat voters think free speech should be legal "only under certain circumstances." The loss of free speech is a downward spiral. Censorious instincts inevitably permeate all parties. It's an arms race of silence.
That same poll of Democrats found 75% of them think the government should censor "hateful" social media posts. "Hateful" would, of course, be defined by the party in power. "Hate speech is not free speech" is an inherently totalitarian concept, and Dems are madly in love with it.
The poll of Democrats is here:
One of the problems with censorship is that it inevitably becomes a contest between parties. It's an exercise of raw power, and everyone will want to flex that power. Principled commitment to free speech is for chumps.
The amount of money siphoned out of American taxpayers is staggering, and much of the tax burden has been fiendishly hidden from them. What do they get for it? An endless clown show of incompetence and graft that doesn't even expect political elites to dress like adults anymore.
The direct tax burden is just a tiny fraction of what every American pays, and even THAT was hidden from us with automatic paycheck deductions and "mandatory employer contributions" that are really just another tax on our incomes.
We could end so much of the expensive insanity gripping American government by ending paycheck deductions and making people write checks for their tax payments. But even then, much of the true tax burden would remain carefully hidden.
