🧵 "Israel is committing war crimes!" say a bunch of "journalists" and "human rights activists."
Is that the case? Or are so many people who purport to be experts dead wrong and totally ignorant of the Geneva Conventions?
Let's briefly examine relevant Intl law:
1. "Gazans are oppressed so targeting civilians in the name of 'resistance' isn't terrorism."
Back in 2002, @amnesty clarified for Palestinians that they don't get to pick and choose which Intl Laws to follow. Indiscriminate/deliberate targeting of civilians is NEVER JUSTIFIED!
Yesterday, Amnesty reiterated the same position.
Now that we clarified that no amount of purported "apartheid," "occupation," or "oppression," ever justifies the wanton murder of civlians, let's examine the many war crimes committed by Hamas as per the Geneva Conventions.
2. Mutilation — Obviously, it's not allowed.
3. Hostage taking — Obviously, it's not allowed.
4. Violating Women — Obviously, it's not allowed.
5. Violating Children — Obviously, it's not allowed (see video in next post).
Captured Hamas terrorists says they intended to rape women AND CHILDREN!
6. Using Civilian Human Shields/Preventing Civilians From Fleeing/Directing Civilians to Military Targets — Obviously, it's not allowed.
7. Using POW Human Shields — Obviously, it's not allowed.
9. Mistreating Wounded/Infirm/Pregnant Women — Obviously, it's not allowed.
10. Using Hospitals/Mobile Medical Units as Cover for Military Activity — Obviously, it's not allowed.
11. Pillage and Destruction of Civilian Personal Property — Obviously, it's not allowed.
Now let's examine some of the claims made against Israel and what Intl Law actually says.
1. "Israel's bombardment of Gaza amounts to collective punishment because of the presence of civilians."
First, Israel gives civilians advanced warning & directives on where to flee
Second, if civilians are forced to remain or refuse to heed the directives, they are no longer immune from being targeted if in legitimate military targets.
2. "Israel is destroying entire building blocks in Gaza; it's a war crime!"
No, it's not a war crime to destroy properties used for military/belligerent activity.
Furthermore, if Israel actually wanted to destroy the hospital(s) housing Hamas bases it would be entirely legitimate under Intl Law, yet Israel never took/takes that step.
3. "Okay, but Israel still commits war crimes!"
Uh, no. Israel:
- Does not target civilians indiscriminately nor explicitly
- Does not use its population centers to launch attacks
- Does not take civilians hostages
- Does not rape women/children
- Does not mutilate bodies
So those who say Israel is committing war crimes while presenting Hamas/Gazans as nothing but victims, are not only absolutely wrong as per Intl Law, but they've actually conflated the two despite evidence showing Palestinian terrorists are the sole ppl committing war crimes!
Of course, none of this information is new, the Geneva Conventions have been around for a long while.
If you'd like to delve into this subject in greater detail, it was all covered in my book, "A Brief and Visual History of Antisemitism." amazon.com/Brief-Visual-H…

NOTE: Twitter has automatically blocked the confirmed images of Hamas mutilation of Israeli civilians.
UPDATE: Twitter automatically blocked certain confirmed images and therefore there are a couple of items omitted I am reposting here without the images in question. See below:

(Twitter automatically removed the images of Shani Louk on the back of the pickup truck and the young woman with blood-stained pants held in the back of a jeep — ask yourself why Twitter is blocking such images, & automatically!)
Mind you, I didn’t even get to the war crimes Hamas has committed against its own people, like misfiring rockets that hit and killed Gazans, killing Palestinian homosexuals, and ethnically cleansing their enclave of Bedouin:
🧵By now everyone is aware of chatGPT’s political bias.
That got me thinking about how the AI bot would treat the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
I asked about Palestinian support for terrorism and the supposed ancient roots of Palestinian people.
The responses are eye-opening:
Me: Explain why Palestinians celebrate successful terror attacks against Jews.
chatGPT: That’s a blanket statement… “Such actions are strongly condemned by the MAJORITY of Palestinians.” Plus, here are some platitudes too…
Me: Okay, I’ll revise my query to be more precise…
Me: Why do SOME Palestinians celebrate terror attacks?
chatGPT: “Many Palestinians” condemn such acts and “celebrations may not necessarily indicate support for violence, but instead may be a way of reclaiming a sense of normalcy and celebrating the resilience of the community.”
