Queer Activists hang pride flags in their classrooms to tell kids their classrooms aren't safe, not to tell closeted gay and lesbian kids that they are.

Even if they say that they are hanging them to signal the safety of their classrooms, they are wrong.
If they stopped to think about the insanity of their ideology for more than 5 seconds, this would be clear.

The flag signals that the classroom isn't safe, otherwise, there wouldn't be a need for the flag.
But the flag doesn't make the classroom safe, it just signals that power dynamics are present, i.e. normality is structuring the classroom relations, because classrooms are tied to a larger structure (schooling).

This teacher wrote an entire book about practicing Queer Pedagogy (Freire + Queer Theory) om children, but I've been told that "it's not in schools!", so I guess we can ignore this!
