In addition to the imagery of the car park in this IDF video we now also have the first daytime image of the car park that was hit. via t.me/QudsNen/82921

Here's daytime footage from the impact site at the hospital t.me/Bader12000/136…
The is the most noticeable damage to the ground, which, if it were the impact point of the munition used, would mean it's pretty small payload, although at this moment we can't know if it's not pre-existing damage, so I wouldn't want to draw conclusions from it. Image
This video shows footage from outside and inside the hospital buildings instagram.com/reel/Cyh5eGKob…
More footage from the hospital carpark. One car has been flipped over, close to where the damage ground was, so it might indicate that it was close to the impact of the munition
There's additional photos from inside the hospital and the carpark here, although be warned, there's a couple of graphic images of the remains of a child instagram.com/p/Cyh8gYluZWN/

This video shows damage to one vehicle that looks very significant, and might provide some details to the exact spot the munition hit. Damage to nearly all the other vehicles seem to be from fires.

The first video I've seen that shows what seems to be an impact crater, along with scarring on the ground. instagram.com/reel/CyiI76MAv…
This video shows the location next to the impact crater, where footage from the aftermath of the attack shows multiple casualties. It appears people were camped out there, and the munition landed right next to them. t.me/Bader12000/136…
The main image from the Guardian's analysis of the attack gives a good view of the shrapnel marks from the detonated munition fanning out from the impact crater

Image
More footage from the site of the impact, shows more of the crater and surrounding shrapnel damage
I should note this claim is not consistent with the fragmentation damage emanating from the crater, and pretty much everything else that's visible at the attack site.

While we’re all discussing the spread of disinformation and misinformation on Twitter, I’d like to call out a certain behaviour some self-described OSINTers are doing that doesn't help the situation; posting videos, images, and claims without sharing the original sources.
The point of open source investigation is it's open source, not special secret information, and for me the goal has always been to have a clear understanding of situations using open source material, sharing the original links to sources so other people can look for themselves.
What I’m seeing more and more are some “OSINT” accounts just taking content from Telegram and reposting it, which isn’t so awful in itself, but failing to link to the original source is the antithesis of what open source investigation is about.

Last night, we saw a totally false claim about Israel bombing a church in Gaza go viral, thanks to multiple blue tick accounts repeating an unverified claim that had no evidence to back it up. Musk has created a fundamental issue with Twitter's credibility in moments of crisis.
Those claims appeared to gain traction when the @DD_Geopolitics account, which is the renaming of the pro-Putin and anti-Ukrainian Donbass Devushka account, who changed their account name when their real identity was reported on back in April news.usni.org/2023/04/17/fed…
Image
If Musk hadn't made it so hard to research disinformation on his website, this case would be a good way to show the growing overlap of the pro-Assad, the pro-Putin, and the US alt-right griftospheres.

I get asked about the risks of AI generated imagery and deep fakes a lot. I see them in terms of evidence and information. As evidence, we've nothing to worry about, as any good investigation uses multiple sources to verify and corroborate claims 1/ theguardian.com/technology/202…
One of the first things we do with any video or image is attempt to geolocate it. AI can't generated imagery of real locations that could be geolocated, so it would fail that first verification hurdle. 2/
As for the information side of it, that's far more problematic. Fake images and false claims go viral all the time, and I don't think things like Community Notes are going to do much to stop that 3/

Over the past week, @LauraLoomer has been flipping out about Kent McLellan, aka Boneface, a US neo-Nazi who claims to have fought in Ukraine. Now Bellingcat shows how court filings prove Boneface was making up those claims promoted by Loomer
bellingcat.com/news/2023/09/1…
Online court filings place Kent McLellan, who goes by the alias Boneface, in Florida at the same time he claims he was fighting in last year’s bloody siege of Mariupol. Image
Multiple court and legal documents also confirm he was in Florida, either in jail or on probation, during the other periods he claimed to be Ukraine. Bellingcat contacted local authorities to confirm the information, and establish for certain he was not in Ukraine when claimed.

One thing I've encountered over the last several years working with bodies like this is that they're often very conservative about the information and evidence they use to make their decisions, and are often getting to grips with open source investigation for the first time.
A lot also often avoid media reports and NGO reports, because they often work in highly charged political environments where using a source that gets something wrong is a huge headache. However, open source evidence speaks for itself in many cases, but only with quality analysis.
But the problem is that these organisations don't have an internal open source skill set, so they are unable to assess the quality of open source analysis done by others.

Maybe it's time for @MaxBlumenthal to come clean about how much money comes from donations from high networth individuals like Roger Waters, especially after insisting the Grayzone is just funded by multiple small donors?
As usual, the Grayzone lads going on about other organisations funders is 100% projection. Maybe it's time tor yearly external audits, like we have a Bellingcat?
Rumours of Waters earlier funding of the Grayzone were related to 6 figure sums, so if that's true then it would make Waters a significant backer of the Grayzone. Can @MaxBlumenthal clarify exactly how much he's given over the years, and what percentage of their income that is?
