Dad went to hospital for small hip fracture after hall. Went in N100 (though has beard that fits under it). Staff complied w N95 request in room. But his mask got removed a few times & we don't know if surgeon wore one when putting in pins. He's a very high-risk disabled patient.
I tested him after we got him settled in as a precaution. Hadn't taken respirators off yet but his was valved. Anyway... mom had negative test but she had taken a couple straw sips under mask in his room, so have them isolated separately and am wearing N100 to bring them stuff.😩
Dad requires care every 2 hrs, so will just be wearing N100, snuffling some Taffix, and hoping for the best, I guess. Mom and I have CPC mouthwash to gargle every few hrs and nitric oxide, too. Oof. I fucking hate how hospitals are now intenional cesspools designed to kill elders

Dad in ER w/ vomiting, possible UTI, mb pneumonia. Mom headed in w/ her P100 & Taffix & KN95s for staff. I'm in parking lot waiting to learn if he got a room. We always send an info sheet w him to ER w info, code status (FULL), meds, & request for airborne precautions. So scared.
@mom_spokane Idk if it's like that w teaching hospitals in other cities. I wonder.
@CarrieMoonbeams Unfortunately, the staff in ER ignored the N95 accommodation stated on the info sheet we printed up for them when he was admitted and Mom was too stunned to speak up. It was >2 hrs later she told me & I called house supe to fix it. 2 hrs exposure. Miracle if he's not infected.😫
