In the USA, the percentage of total births to both Non-Hispanic White parents fell to 39.8% in 2022, down from 40.8% in 2021.
Some states including Texas & California recorded a percentage less than 25%, while others like West Virginia and New Hampshire recorded over 70%
To clarify even further, these births refer to births to both a non-hispanic white mother and a non-hispanic white father.
Important to highlight that births to both white parents, regardless of Hispanic origin, were 57.1 % of total births.
If you look at births simply by the race of the mother, then white mothers (regardless of hispanic origin) had 73.8% of total births.
However, only 50.2% of the births were to non-hispanic white women.
79.3% of those 50.2% of births to non-hispanic white women also had a non-hispanic white fathers, so a total of 39.8% of the total births were to both non-hispanic white parents.
Obviously, consideration of Hispanic origin changes these numbers quite a bit.
For example, births to both white parents in California (regardless of Hispanic origin) are 55.9% and in Texas it is 62%.
For all of U.S. it's 57.1% of the total (but disregarding Hispanic origin)
