Motorola just revealed an AI-powered wearable smartphone 🤯

Plus, huge announcements from Google, YOU, Amazon, OpenAI, China's 'Woodpecker', ChatGPT, 3 new AI jobs, and 10 new AI tools.

Here's the rundown of everything going on in AI right now:
Motorola just unveiled its foldable (and wearable) smartphone.

When flat, it runs a full version of Android — but folded on the wrist, it enters a streamlined smartwatch-like mode.

Seriously some next-level stuff. But will there be buying demand?
Motorola's new foldable phone is also getting boosted by AI.

They've developed an AI model that runs locally on the device, allowing users to 'bring their personal style to their phone.'

Users can upload or take a photo to get an AI-generated theme to match their style.
Google just announced tools to help users fact-check images.

Users can also see metadata, including fields to indicate if it is an AI-generated image.

The company also said that it will be marking all images created by Google AI, similar to Adobe Firefly.
AI search engine YOU launched AI "Smart Personalization" to tailor responses based on user’s interests.

Essentially, it learns to write a better prompt for YOU over time without using sensitive data like traditional search engines.
Amazon released an AI tool to auto-generate lifestyle product images for ads.

Users will be able to add a product and conjure contextually relevant scenes quickly.

The aim is to reduce creative work using AI tools, which could be a game-changer for time-strapped advertisers.
OpenAI, Google, Microsoft, and Anthropic are forming the 'Frontier Model Forum.'

The companies are jointly funding new AI safety research and red teaming — with a $10M fund set up to support independent evaluation of powerful models.
Researchers in China have developed a system called ‘Woodpecker.’

The AI can reportedly detect and correct hallucinations in multimodal AI models like GPT-4.

Woodpecker could be a massive unlock to help solve the hallucination situation within LLMs right now! Image
ChatGPT's knowledge cutoff is being updated for some users to September 2023.

This means ChatGPT might be getting upgraded to knowledge as of 30 days ago.

It's not been officially announced, so it could be a bug only shown for some users.

I've been sleeping on Apple Shortcut Automations.

So, I asked my community for their top automations that actually improved their lives.

Here's the top 15 life hacks from the thread:
1/

Record voice memos, email them to yourself, then use an AI agent platform (Gumloop, n8n, or Lindy) to turn them into long-form articles

Perplexity Comet is not like other agents

I’ve been testing it all week, and it’s starting to actually *stick*

Having in-page data context and plugging it directly into tabs makes it so much easier to add to my workflow

An honest review with a few use cases (and caveats):
First, the caveats:

- It's still early, and struggles with longer workflows
- Most data is retained by Perplexity (privacy concern)
- Only available to Max users ($200/mo) or free with an invitation code (we just dropped 500 codes in The Rundown University)
USE CASE 1: Email and Calendar management

With the Google Cal and Gmail integrations, it can summarize emails, schedule meetings, and manager calendar events directly from the browser

It's weird that Google hasn't done this yet
