Together, these two women prove that there is more than one way to gldo good science; that luck favors the prepared mind; and that life on Earth remains a topic of great puzzlement.
On a more sobering note, both of them achieved their scientific discoveries with minimal support from computational modeling---to say nothing of machine learning or "AI".
