*NEW* - AHS v 2.0! AHS ICU Weekly Numbers Updated Tuesday - Currently - 183 (+10) admitted into AHS ICU Beds. 223 "OPEN" Beds - 40 Remaining Open - Capacity: **82%**. Lets get this 'Are there any rural ER's or OB Units open anymore?' Healthcare thread going! /1

*NEW* Lac La Biche ED will see Multiple closures over the next week. The ED will close at 4pm Nov 5th until 8am November 6th. Starting November 6th, the ED will close from 4pm to 8am daily until November 11th. No Emergency Physician Coverage is behind the shut down. (Cont.) /2

EMS & Patients are being diverted to Athabasca (95KM), Smoky Lake (103KM), St. Therese (St. Paul) (122KM), Two Hills (145KM) or Fort Saskatchewan (190KM) /3

*NEW* Pincher Creek saw their ED closed from 730pm Nov 2nd to 730am November 3rd. Milk River's Indefinite closure, was scrapped as coverage was found starting at 8am today. Fairview Emergency Department also saw a closure today 7am until 7pm due to no coverage. /4

*NEW* Beaverlodge saw it's Emergency Department closed at 8am today, and is supposed to re-open at 8pm tonight. Further closures are scheduled for 8am Nov 4 to 8am Nov 5 and 7pm Nov 5 to 8am Nov 6. EMS & Patients are being diverted to Grande Prairie (42KM) /5

*NEW* Hardisty Emergency department closed at 5pm this evening (Nov 3) and it will not re-open until 7am November 13th. Lack of physician coverage has once again shut down the ED. EMS & Patients are being diverted to Killam (44KM), Wainwright (58KM) or Daysland (75KM) /6

*NEW* After being closed for 2 weeks, Coronation Emergency will see even MORE closures... Scheduled to re-open Nov 6th, the ED is now remaining closed until 8am Nov 7th. Following Closures scheduled for Nov 9-10th, 13-14th & 16-17th. (Cont.) /7

The Acute Care unit is still remaining closed, and all this is due to no emergency physician coverage available in the area. EMS & Patients will be diverted to Castor (36KM), Hanna (98KM) Stettler (95KM) or Red Deer (175KM) depending on patient needs /8

*NEW* Rocky Mountain House OR & OB Unit stopped accepting High Risk/C-Section & patients requiring Epidurals as of 5pm tonight. Low Risk/No Epidurals cases will be accepted during this diversion. This diversion will be in place until 3pm Nov 5th. (Cont.) /9

Diversion is due to anesthetist and physician shortage due to illness/unavailability. Due to other OB Units closed in the region, patients will be diverted to Red Deer (84KM) or Calgary/Edmonton depending on Mom & baby needs. /10

*NEW* Barrhead once again closed it's OR as of 7am this morning Nov 3. No Surgical Cases, OB High Risk/C-Section or those that require Epidural cases, or Emergency Endoscopy's will be accepted. Low Risk OB cases & not requiring Epidurals are accepted still (Cont.) /11

This shut down is due to no anesthesiologists available due to illness/unavailability in the region. This diversion will be in effect until 7am Nov 5th and then again from 7am Nov 6 to 4pm Nov 10. Patients will be diverted to other sites with available services. /12

*NEW* Viking Hospital saw its OB Unit shut down again as of 7am November 2nd. Closure will be in place until 11pm Nov 7th. Closure is due to staff unavailable due to illness/no staffing available to keep unit operating. (Cont.) /13

Expectant parents could be looking at a drive to Camrose (81KM) due to Wainwright also about to go on diversion! /14

*NEW* Wainwright Hospital will once again see it's OB Unit Closed and on Diversion from 7am November 4th to 7am November 6th. Closure is due to staff unavailable due to illness/no staffing available to keep unit operating. (Cont.) /15

With Viking also seeing an OB Diversion, this could require drives of up to 1 to 2 hrs depending what services mom & baby need! Closest Diversion could be Camrose (140KM) or Lloydminster (109KM) /16

REMINDER - OB Services are also NOT available in Lac La Biche (OR CLOSED - Low Risk ONLY), High Level (OR CLOSED - LOW Risk Only / No Surgical), Slave Lake (Closed), Westlock (Closed), Rimbey (Closed), Sundre (Closed) & Three Hills (Closed) /17

REMINDER - Boyle Emergency Department is closed from 8pm to 9am daily. Consort ED is fully closed and Grimshaw is closed from 9pm to 9am daily. /18

*NEW* Drumheller Hospital has now enacted the Enhanced Masking Protocol as of this morning. This is the 2nd site in the Central Zone, to enact this protocol for all staff & Visitors. No Calgary zone hospitals have enacted the protocol yet. /19
