Yesterday, a video shared by a friend shook me to the core, revealing a historical connection I had barely grasped. Muhammad Amin al-Husseini - whose influence, darker and more ominous than I had imagined - cast a long, sinister tone over the pro-Palestinian narrative. 🧵 8/8

Many of you may already know that Husseini was the architect of the Palestinian movement and orchestrated violent onslaughts against early Jewish settlements and caravans. As early as 1919, he began organizing small groups of suicide attackers to terrorize Jewish communities. /1

By 1921, those attacks grew in scale and ferocity. Riots in Jaffa and Petah Tikvah, instigated by the Mufti, left 43 Jews dead. The following year, al-Husseini began to call himself the “Grand Mufti” and was appointed to lead the Supreme Muslim Council. /2

His power was absolute and his henchmen ensured he would face no opposition by systematically killing Palestinians from rival clans who were discussing cooperation with the Jews. /3

The Mufti orchestrated many other attacks, including the "Hebron Massacre" and eventually the "Arab Revolts of 1936-1939," which led to an arrest warrant by the British and caused Hussein to flee British Mandate Palestine. /4

Dismissed from his position following the riots, he eventually landed in Berlin, where he was paid to make anti-British radio broadcasts to the Middle East, mobilizing support for Germany among Muslims and urging Arabs to attack Allied forces and kill Jews. /5

The unsettling revelation from Spanish historian Francisco Gil-White, though, cuts through the historical veil. Hussein became highly influential with the Nazi regime and was even appointed a branch in their government along with an annual budget. /6

Al-Husseini, a puppet master on par with Hitler and Himmler, not only birthed the Palestinian movement but also convinced the Nazis to abandon their initial plan of Jewish expulsion in exchange for the heinous "Final Solution." /7
