It’s clear that the worst way to begin your morning is by being stuck inside surrounded by artificial light
Nothing compares to being outside with most of your skin exposed to the sun
It’s a potent health fundamental
Better clarity of mind, great skin, circadian benefits, etc
There are a few things to note:
1. You won’t nearly achieve the same benefits if you’re wearing sunglasses or contact lenses
Mother Nature’s optics need natural, undisturbed light for the full effect
Especially in relation to POMC, skin protection, so forth
2. Clothing blocks these light wavelengths from hitting your skin
When I say as little clothing as possible, I mean it
Treat it exactly like sunbathing
Each morning, I expose 90-95% of my raw skin to AM sunlight as it ascends
3. If you’re the type to put sunscreen on in the morning, all hope is lost
But seriously, what the hell are you doing?
Toss the sunscreen
There’s no way you’ll get a burn from morning sunlight exposure
AM sunlight on your skin, through filaggrin, will protect you from burns
4. Sunbathe in AM sunlight for at least 30 minutes daily
My rule of thumb might seem like a long time, but it’s the most important part of the day
You’ll be amazed by how much energy and drive you have after some time of doing this
Game changer
5. Consistency is king
For best results, you really have to understand the importance of this practice and do it religiously
It’s not hard to get people to do this because of the impact beta-endorphin has on them
Biologically driven addiction with only upside, zero downside
The versatility of this practice strikes me more than anything because the sun is always out
Even when it’s very cloudy, you’re still getting an incredible amount of natural circadian friendly light
Follow the same steps, and you’ll get the benefits of cold and natural light
Wherever you are, you can wake up and immediately go outside
If you can only expose your bare eyes, so be it as long as it gets done
Full body? Amazing
Just shirtless? Great
The point is that your skin is actually in the game as opposed to inside
Layer on your morning activities with this practice. Eat breakfast outside under sunshine. Take calls outside. Train outside. Go for a stroll
Making it automatic is key for overall metabolic health

As you age, you’ll notice that, compared to most people in your age bracket:
