1/ We have learned deeply disturbing new information about the recent antisemitic panel event that occurred at the GW Medical School. The event was rife with blatant antisemitism and lies about Israel.

2/ Speaker Shira Robinson falsely claimed Israel is "ethnically cleansing" Gaza and made other outrageous accusations. She also justified Hamas terrorism against Israeli civilians.

3/ Speaker Michael Barnett similarly justified Hamas terrorism, referring to it as "resistance." He also spread lies claiming Israel is committing "genocide" against Palestinians.

4/ Speaker Dayna Qato further spread lies about Israel, referring to it as a "settler colonial" project intent on "depopulating" Palestinians. She also glorified the Nakba.

5/ These are just some examples of the rampant antisemitism and anti-Israel lies that were spread at this event, officially sponsored by the GW Medical School. It is completely unacceptable for a GW-sanctioned event to demonize Israel and Jews.

6/ GW has a responsibility to foster an environment free of antisemitism. @GWtweets must take real action in response to this and other recent antisemitic incidents.

7/ Specifically, GW must:

✅ Fully investigate the medical school event and hold those responsible accountable

✅ Adopt the IHRA international definition of antisemitism

✅ Increase antisemitism education and training

8/ Antisemitism should have no place at GW or any university. Jewish students deserve to feel safe.

9/ To the Jewish community and its friends and allies at GW and beyond, know that we stand with you.

Antisemitism must be confronted wherever it arises.
