10 mental concepts that will make you way smarter:
Russell Conjugation

When someone chooses different words to describe something, depending on how favourable they want to be to what they’re describing.

When reading or listening to others, ask:

“Am I forming my opinion based on facts, or the opinion of the writer/speaker?” Image
Introspection Illusion

We think we understand our motivations and desires, our likes and dislikes.

We believe we know ourselves and why we are the way we are.

In reality, when asked to explain our emotional states, we typically make something up.

Dig deeper, reflect more.

How to outperform in your career?

Become a 10x employee:
A 10x employee is among the highest-performing employees at a given company.

They maximize returns and add value to the organization.

Studies show that adding a 10x employee to a team boosts the performance of other team members by up to 15%.

Here’s how to become one:
Great Employees Are Dedicated

Dedicated employees have passion for what they do.

They’re satisfied with their job and work with a positive attitude.

Dedicated employees are goal-oriented.

Goal-oriented people take steps to improve their work performance.

Give me 2 minutes and I'll teach you how to quit instant gratification.

The “Remarkable Life” Exercise:
Instant gratification is the habit of giving into immediate impulses or guilty pleasures.

You might think about a chocolate bar and head to the vending machine.

Or, you stop for a break on a run and don’t start again.

These are examples of giving into instant gratification.
There’s nothing wrong with indulging in snacks and small breaks occasionally.

But instant gratification is a habit.

One chocolate bar isn’t a problem right now, but if you give in repeatedly, it might be.

Giving into instant gratification distracts us from our long-term goals.

Want to become the best at what you do?

Read this:
GROW is the most popular Coaching Framework you’ve never heard of.

It's used by countless high-performing businesses, coaches, and leaders daily to accelerate towards reaching goals.

Here's how you can use it to identify and attain excellence:
Most people set goals.

But goals alone aren't enough to get you from A to B.

The GROW Model is a coaching framework that establishes Goals, Reality, Options, and Will.

Combining these four steps will ensure you reach the right goal for the right reason; here's how:

Most people suck at decision-making.

Let's change that.

Here are 15 of the best decision-making mental models I've found:
The Inside-Outside View

We have a natural tendency to favour the inside view—our own independent solution to a problem that incorporates all of our hidden biases.

To make better decisions, we should favour the outside view—one that incorporates the best available data. The Inside-Outside View
Ladder of Inference

Describes the thinking process we go through—often subconsciously—to get from a fact to a decision or action.

To make better decisions, we should move slowly and deliberately from the bottom of the ladder to the top of the ladder.

10 of the most powerful paradoxes of modern life:
The Resistance Paradox

When we accept resistance, resistance disappears.

When we accept our challenges, we’re able to start solving them.

When we face the fire, the fire can be extinguished.

Our resistance is an opportunity, or an ever-growing thorn in our side.
The Scarcity Paradox

The more available something is, the less we want it.

What’s scarce is deemed valuable, what’s abundant is deemed worthless.

In reality, utility doesn’t always follow scarcity.

Abundant pleasures can be our most valuable pleasures—and vice versa.
