What are the current problems?

**Daily Intrusion**: A lot of Unwanted Promotional Calls.

**Ineffectiveness of DND**: Despite registering for the Do Not Disturb (DND) service, consumers continue to receive unwanted calls.

Implications: Intrusion & Disruption, Privacy Violation & Consumer Helplessness.

What are the new provisions to eradicate these problems?👇🏼

**Consumer Consent Mandate**: The bill mandates that companies making promotional calls must obtain prior permission from consumers before initiating any marketing communications.

**Empowering Consumer Choice**: Prior consent requirements aim to empower consumers by giving them control over the receipt of promotional calls and messages.

**Enforcement and Accountability**: Non-compliance with the consent mandate will result in penalties and fines for companies engaging in unauthorized telemarketing activities.

Punishment proposed in case of violation:

Fines of Rs 50,000 for the first unauthorized call and Rs 2 lakh for subsequent unsolicited calls.
