With a night to sleep on it and reflect, thought I'd share some thoughts on the Colorado Supreme Court being the first to do the kinds of things I've been predicting for most of this year we were going to see. Let's try and look at this from several different angles.
Legal
People whose opinions I respect, including some that aren't even in the Trump Ride or Die camp, believe the opinion is basically junk. However, never forget this:

We are not a nation of laws, and never have been, but a nation of political will, and we will always will be.
For example, imagine Righty social media post-Roe v Wade. "This is complete bunk. There's no right to murder your kid in the Constitution, let alone an explicit right to privacy. This will get overturned." Instead, Roe was the "law of the land" for half a century.
Where in the Constitution was the wherewithal to overturn 7 millennia of precedent on the definition of marriage? I could go on and on. Almost nothing the Spirit of the Age has imposed via the courts ever had any constitutional basis. And that is on purpose.
We are dealing with un-law. Things that aren't merely unconstitutional but anti. The INTENT is to undo us, not just evolve or stretch fundamentals but erase them. That being said, I'm guessing Jack Smith isn't happy this morning, and here's why.
Whatever he and his regime acolytes have planned -- and rest assured there is a plan -- to be fully realized requires a slow burn. They can't let us see the end before it's too late to thwart it. It must seem as if all protocols were followed, so this is the logical conclusion.
Ala we charged Hunter Biden so we can charge Trump, we then put Trump on trial, after his "fair trial" he was convicted of insurrection, thus the only logical conclusion once protocols were followed is to arrest and imprison the insurrectionist.
I could be wrong, but I do not believe what the Colorado Supreme Court did here is part of that plan. But more of what we typically see from these communists -- they just can't contain themselves and acted out.
Because it threatens to awaken people to a grim reality Jack Smith types don't want your normie friends/family to have to confront until the deed is done, thus it cannot be undone but must be accepted as reality. However, don't be comforted by this and here's why.
Because this also shows the rot/hate runs so deep on their side, that even if somehow the Supreme Court sides with Trump and he gets all these other current actions put off until after the 2024 election, Colorado is showing us these people aren't going to stop.
Letitia James/Jack Smith are legion. The line of Democrat operatives masquerading as judges/DAs/SOS/etc is longer than In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida. Many fiends are actually hoping Smith fails, so they can supplant him and get the glory for the takedown instead. Stay thirsty, my friends.
Political
I believe the goal of the Trump campaign has been to end this primary as soon as possible for two reasons:

1) Trump is in dire need of turning the Right (donors, party, etc.) into a collective legal defense fund in order to be able to win the general election.
2) That is an easier sell if he's the nominee, and thus the marriage is consummated and our fates are intertwined. But if too many primary voters grasp the true depths of legal jeopardy Trump is in too early, they might be prompted to say "that sucks but you can't win bro."
Right now, the sentiment "they're really persecuting Trump because they hate me" is the prevailing sentiment on the Right. But what if people find out how truly difficult it is going to be to get Trump across the finish line in a must-win election?
At what point does it become "what is happening to Trump is wrong, but we have win." When people realize things like it could be an expensive and distracting fight to even have Trump on enough ballots to get to 270, even if he is electable, down to the last day?
That is an unknown, and the kind of variable that could reverb like a mutha. Trump 2024 needs that to remain unknowable until he's coronated. Then it doesn't matter. We no longer have time to consider it, since we're all punching the same clock.
OTOH, it is my hope this will wake some earnest and critical-thinking ride or die Trump people to prompt their team to finally have a plan beyond "win the nomination ASAP and then hope for the best." I pray what Colorado is trying wakes more people up to the peril here.
Remedies
I love how the Colorado Republican Party responded to this, by saying it wasn't going to wait for the courts and just hope the right thing is done. Instead, it has already announced it will check and balance this judicial tyranny by switching to a caucus if need be.
I'm a big believer in solving your problems with aggression. Best to make the wrong decision too quickly, and then there's time to course correct, then wait too long to make the right decision and the window at that point is just closed.
I hope how the Colorado GOP has responded sets a tone here. Do not put all our eggs in the John Roberts basket. Stop throwing Hail Marys to SCOTUS. Get aggressive with the means we have at our disposal now. Think outside the box. Look to be aggressive.

Have. A. Plan.
Furthermore, I actually think we need all the candidates currently in to stay in the race for as long as possible now. We need contingencies. We either need to let the process play itself out naturally, because it makes it easier to unify when people feel they had a say.
And/or we cannot entrust to Ronna and the RNC/establishment what would happen if Trump were taken out or (far, far, far less likely now) willing to accept a plea deal to stay out of prison (even if offered).
In those scenarios (especially the first), which aren't likely but also not remote, we'd want to make sure the candidates people were actually voting for and vetting were the contingency, and not whatever the GOP Swamp/Star Chamber belches from its bowels.
Because that is likely to be somebody that makes Nikki Haley look like Alex Jones.

If Trump is to be coronated, let him take the throne like the alpha many think he is. Until then, we need options we know for more coup attempts like Colorado's. Not options Team GOP gives us.

With the release of the latest Iowa Poll, and the Caucuses now just 35 days away, I think it is time to have a blunt conversation about the state of things. Not just Iowa, but beyond. And I'm going to tell you what I really think, because that's what I do.
And therefore, I'm not sure anybody is going to like it, but that's just my way lol.
The main goal here is not Iowa but defeating the Demoncrats 329 days from today. I have never said that before, but this time I am convinced the country cannot survive another four years of this combined manifestation of corruption, evil, and idiocy.

This is in Politico Playbook this morning. Trump campaign meeting with corporate media who hates us all, but they’re conspiring together to destroy @RonDeSantis. The same media that tried to impeach Trump and is trying to put him in prison now, nevertheless toasting his campaign. All the same people the Trump campaign is schmoozing now will of course go all in to defeat him in the general.

From a Little Birdie who was there at the same restaurant and witnessed it firsthand:

“Not a single conservative media outlet was there. All corporate and left-wing media. On the one hand, it is noteworthy the Trump campaign felt the need to travel the length of the country for a debate their candidate supposedly doesn’t think is worth his time. But to actually see these two supposed mortal enemies yucking it up, to see the liberal media completely in bed with the Trump campaign like that, it was surreal.”
This just goes to show the Trump campaign/team thinks this is all just politics. And they can reel in these vipers for some silly "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" 1-dimensional chess. Meanwhile, enemy media speaks with forked tongue. Its father is the father of lies. They advocate for murder, human trafficking, gender mutilation, etc. out in the open. The true doctrines of demons.

The Trump campaign isn't using the enemy media. It is using them. They are the ones playing 4-D chess here. At the same time the Trump campaign is buying the high-end steak dinners and bottomless glasses of wine, these same people are coordinating with the deep state to destroy Trump and anyone adjacent to him -- even to the point of imprisonment.

Meanwhile, Trump and his team again acting as if this is all a game, except they're the ones being played (and us). This isn't pro wrestling with heroes and heels and Hulk Hogan goes from a real American to Hollywood. This is an outright Cold Civil War, and only one side will win. The other will be lost to history. We're playing a game. They're playing for keeps.

This is what I mean when I say our side just isn't serious. But the other side is as serious as a Covid jab-inducing heart attack.
They accused you of being traitor and Russian asset. They stole an election from you. They impeached you. They're trying to imprison you now. And your people are wining and dining them? Are you freaking kidding me? What will it take to take this all seriously?

Gather round, boys and girls, as I spin you a tale in this thread that is about much more than #conferencerealignment in #CollegeFootball. Oh, it is about much more than that. For this tale contains much of what is now eroding nearly all our cultural institutions in real-time.
There's a dash of everything contributing to our current decline in the cauldron here: institutional myopia, ideological blinders, no self-awareness, hubris to think you can ignore market economics, fake victimology, greed, and most definitely good old fashioned elitism.
Let's begin...The genesis of our story actually takes us back almost 40 years ago. An organization called the NCAA regulates collegiate athletics with an iron fist and anti-trust protection. Yet it faces the first real challenge to its hegemony.

Although it'll probably fall on mostly deaf ears here, where too many are emotionally/financially invested in an outcome so they can't/won't be able to, since I like how Twitter is increasingly democratized let's try to have an adult conversation about #TrumpIndictment. THREAD:
It looks like this DOJ case is only about the Mar-A-Lago raid and the classified documents allegedly found. Hence, Trump being indicted in Miami. However, that jury pool won't be as biased against him as the one in Manhattan. Trump received 46% of the vote in Miami-Dade in 2020.
And yes, in this era of political persecution, evidence doesn't matter nearly as much as the political loyalties of the prospective jury pool. Trump is toast in Manhattan, where he received only 12% of the 2020 vote. He will likely be convicted of felonies there.

Finally got home and have time to share my top 5 thoughts on the #DeSantis2024 announcement today fwiw.

1) Obviously the tech glitches at the beginning were sub-optimal and drained some of the voluminous energy that was building going in. If the campaign fails, obviously we… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
2) Regardless of the clumsy start, the bottom line is this was the biggest story on the planet today, produced the highest-attended presidential announcement in history, and the campaign raised some serious cash. You can’t ask for more than that as a campaign. What DeSantis… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
3) After his Iowa swing two weeks ago, I heard from people they wanted more of DeSantis off the cuff, and that he was better interacting with people than they expected. I think we saw that in this event. I get you typically have your stump speech prepared to formally launch, but… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…

It ain’t about the name on the front: Trump, DeSantis, Cruz, McCain, Romney, etc.

It’s about the name on the back: ‘merica.

When we’re dumb, we let them make it about themselves. When we’re smart, we make them make it about us.

We can’t afford anymore dumb.
We have two pit bulls in this primary at least, when there were past years we weren’t sure we had any. And right when we need a proverbial killer, too! The absolute dumbest thing we could, then, is create an environment where we don’t make them truly show us the alpha dog.
They won’t do that to us. We will do this to ourselves, with silly high school BS. We want them to fight, but we need to supply the right piece of meat. Because we want whomever comes out of that cage ready for war.
