SitRep - 22/12/23 - Three (!) Su-34's SHOT DOWN ❌❌❌

An overview of the daily events in Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Today, high likely due to the work of a new recently deployed Patriot air defense system, 3 (!) Russian Su-34 bombers were shot down.

As usual we start with Russian losses over the last 24h.
During the evening and night, Russia launched 28 Shahed drones of which 24 were shot down. One Shahed is known to have hit a residential building in Kyiv.
The biggest news of the day. A total of 3 (!) Su-34 bombers were shot down. Presumably by a newly deployed Patriot air defense system in the south.
Russian Air Force affiliated channels started to confirm losses not long after it happened.
Also pictures emerged of the evacuation at one of the crash sites.
A 152-mm gun in the Kherson region destroyed
Two BMP-2's on the left bank were destroyed by accure GMLRS fire, corrected by Shark UAV's.
South of Novomykhailivka, the road into the settlement is becoming a death trap for Russians.
Let's continue with the general events. The US are actively stepping up efforts to make it possible, on a legal way, to confiscate the $300 billion frozen Russian assets.
Newly appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland has visited Kyiv, and spoke to Zelenskyi.
The Netherlands confirmed it is preparing the first batch of 18 F-16's that will be transferred to Ukraine.
Lavrov.
The EU has sent new aid in the form of power generators.
Bodies of 66 Ukrainian soldiers that died on the battlefield, were returned to Ukraine.
Another threat from Russia.
Germany has updated their list with aid supplied to Ukraine.

Novomykhailivka

➡️Russians once again tried to advance into the settlement from the south. The attack was repelled
➡️Meanwhile, having control over Mar'inka, Russians are also trying to advance south of Mar'inka (near the T0531) towards Novomykhailivka. Until now unsuccesful. Image

Synkivka

➡️A lot of Russian efforts to advance north of Synkivka, but to no avail. In less than a week time, several big mechanized attacks were repelled, resulting in major losses on the Russian side. Image
One of the recent Russian attacks on Synkivka, which ended in losses and eventually, a Russian retreat.
Near Avdiivka, no changes. Stepove is being contested for over 1-2 weeks now without significant changes. What is gained during the day, is reversed overnight and vice-versa. Some footage of a recent Russian failed attack emerged.
