Israel and its supporters accuse Hamas of having their headquarters in a hospital, a claim that has been hotly disputed.

Israel has bombed mosques claiming that Hamas stored weapons in them.

When Israel didn't exist as an independent state, the Lehi Zionist militias of later Prime Minister Yitzchak Shamir had their weapons cache in - the Great Synagogue of Tel Aviv.

Israel has destroyed schools in Gaza claiming that they were used for military purposes.

When Israel didn't exist as an independent state, the Haganah Zionist militias of later Prime Minister David Ben Gurion had their headquarters and training center in -- a school.

I don't know if Israel has accused Hamas of using cemeteries for military purposes, but this plaque in the Benyamina cemetery reads "This is one of the slicks [weapons stores] in Binyamina that was used by the Haganah to hide illegal weapons from 1936."

You would think the enlightened and civilized Zionists wouldn't use a girls' school as military training grounds or to hide weapons. You would think wrong.

Boys' schools were not spared either.

The Zionists in Netanya would never put their schoolchildren in harm's way, except by using the Bialik school premises to train their militias and to hide weapons.

The Zionists in Petah Tikva would never put worshipers in harm's way, except by using the Tiferet Binyamin synagogue to store weapons. Text reads: "In this synagogue (...) there was an illegal slick [weapons cache] of the Haganah during British rule."

In case you don't have Hebrew, the text of this plaque at the entrance of a synagogue in Mazkeret Batya reads: "During the British Mandate, there was a "slick" (arms cache) in the synagogue building under the stage."

The Kalischer school in Tel Aviv doubled as a training center in light weapons and as an arms cache.

So did the Tachkemoni School.

And the Netzach Israel school.

And the Tel Nordau school, where the female battalion of the Haganah trained.

And the elementary school in Ramat Gan -- text reads: "This was Ramat Gan’s first elementary school. The place was used by the Irgun units in the 1930s and 1940s as a place for weapons training and a weapons storage."

So Zionists are proud of having done what they now accuse Hamas of doing -- namely using civilian infrastructures for military purposes. The difference is that the British didn't bomb those premises, and the buildings, unlike those in Gaza, survived to tell their stories.
