SitRep - 26/12/23 - Ropucha-class Novocherkask promoted to submarine πŸ“‰

An overview of the daily events in Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Last night, Ukraine attacked the port of Feodosia, destroying two Russian ships of which one is a big landing ship.

As usual we start with Russian losses in the past 24 hours
Another set of Shahed drones was shot down overnight, but way more important... Ukraine attacked the port of Feodosia with SCALP/Storm Shadow. They hit large Ropucha-class landing ship Novocherkask that was carrying ammunition, including Shahed-drones.

Numerous video's emerged of the huge explosion that occured right after the attack.
The intensity of that explosion was extreme. By looking at the fire, the heat was extremely high which probably means a lot of explosives/ammunition involved in the bang.
During the morning, the Novocherkask was still burning.
The explosion was so big, parts of the landing ship were found in other area's of Feodosia.
During the day, the result became known. The Ropucha-class landing ship Novocherkask was officially promoted to a submarine. Vanished, gone.
In addition it became known that an old, quite rusty, training vessel also got hit and sank after the airstrike.
In Yeysk, for the second day in a row, explosions were heard. It needs to be noted that the airport near the city is used to launch Shahed drones towards the southern and eastern parts of Ukraine.
A Russian T-90 destroyed in the vicinity of Avdiivka by a couple of FPV drone hits.
During the day, another two Kh-59 missiles aimed for the Dnipropetrovsk region were destroyed by Ukrainian Air Defense
Russian infantry targeted and hit inside a private house on the left bank
One of the most advanced IFV's of the Russian army, a BMP-T Terminator, destroyed by FPV drones.
Near Robotyne, a Russian tank was hit and destroyed by ATGM fire
In the Kupyansk direction, the Russian cemetary of cooked off vehicles keeps growing and growing...
Lets continue with the general events. South Korea is tightening export controls against Russia in the light of sanctions against them.
The first 6 experienced Ukrainian pilots finished basic training in the UK and will now proceed to flight training on the F-16 in Denmark.
Sweden emphasized that it would need to scale up production capacity to produce more ammunition for its own armed forces and to keep up supplies to Ukraine.
Zelenskyi's evening speech
During a vile attack on the train station in Kherson, several people got injured and one police officer died. Over a hundred people were waiting for an evacuation train when Russians decided to attack the area.
Japan sent light trucks to Ukraine. They were received about a week ago.
