So some random thoughts about the guys who are veterans that just want to be left alone, especially the ones that went on duty say 1985 - 1992 and gave it more than 4 and up to 20+ years. What you're dealing with is a cadre that literally owned the original "Anarchist Cookbook"
and had more fun playing army with pellet guns and Scoutmasters who were AD than you can imagine. They came of age and went to duty with Drill Sergeant and DI's who were Vietnam vets that never wanted to see their "kids" maimed so they taught them every dirty trick in the book.
The went to duty in places like Germany and Turkey where a war meant literally 10k casualties on Day 1 and the jokes w the Cav were "DIPS" for Die in Place in an "Efficient, Proficient, Military Manner"...literally knowing your life meant your comrades had a chance to stand to.
After Gulf War I, they deployed to every Third World shit hole you've heard of and a dozen you haven't. After 9/11, they embraced the suck and brought a level of skill and savagery that initially shocked even the Taliban (who we'd studied and known since the 80s), and;
only slacked off when made to, but made their name in a dozen other brush fires most Gen Zs can't find on a map.
When men and women like this just want to be left alone are continually demonized and belittled, pressured and pushed against... the only logical outcome is a reaction
The problem is, and honest brokers know this, when a generation that is comfortable with levels of interpersonal violence and and understanding of the human, direct and personal costs is forced to action, they bring not one, but two generations of a level of absolute savagery
that no one is truly prepared for.
All BS aside... be very, very concerned when you force to action those who just want to be left alone, or worse, those that have nothing left to lose when stripped of their identity or dignity

Reflexive Control Theory (RCT) is a concept that originated in the field of military strategy but has since been applied to other domains. It proposes that individuals or groups can manipulate the decision-making processes of others
2/6 by providing them with information that will cause them to make a certain choice or take a particular course of action, without them realizing that they are being influenced. The theory suggests that reflexive control is achieved through the use of three key elements:
3/6 a pre-existing mental model or stereotype of the target, a signal that is designed to appeal to that mental model, and a desired response or action that the signal is intended to elicit.
1/6 Social Media Contagion Theory (SMCT) is a concept that refers to the spread of information, emotions, and behaviors through social media networks. The theory suggests that social media can create a "contagion effect," where the behaviors and emotions of one person or group
2/6 can spread rapidly through their social connections, resulting in a significant impact on the attitudes and behavior of other individuals or groups.
The contagion effect can occur in several ways.
3/6 First, social media platforms allow for the rapid and wide dissemination of information, which can create a sense of urgency or alarm among users. This can lead to a "herd mentality," where individuals follow the crowd rather than making their own independent decisions.
