SitRep - 02/01/24 - Another big missile and drone attack on Ukraine.

An overview of the daily events in Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Overnight and early in the morning, Russia again struck Ukraine with over a hundred missiles and drones. Including Kinzhals.

As usual we start with Russian losses over the past 24 hours
Overnight, Russia struck Ukraine with Shaheds. Fortunately, air defense was ready and stand-by and shot down all Shaheds that were aimed for Ukrainian infrastructure. But, this was just a harbinger of what was to come.

By the end of the night/early morning, Russia launched dozens of missiles in several waves, mostly aimed for the capital Kyiv and Kharkiv. In total, 99 missiles were launched of which 72 were shot down.
Zelenskyi responded to the terror inflicted by Russia, once again aimed for civilian infrastructure. There is lots of damage to residential area's in Kyiv and Kharkiv.

Russia used Kh-101 cruise missiles which were reportedly manufactured only just in the last quarter of 2023. Which might indicate a limited stock.
In the Solomianskyi District in Kyiv, lots of wounded due to missile terror on residential high-rise buildings.
Not long after the attacks in Kyiv and Kharkiv, Ukraine responded by attacks on Bilhorod. The Russian MoD claimed it shot down 4 projectiles over the city.
Also during the evening, Ukraine attacked Bilhorod, presumably with MLRS systems. Russia said Ukraine attacked with Vilkha MLRS and Tochka-U.
A high-valuable Russian counterbattery complex destroyed in the Kherson region. Russians literally put out a press release today, stating they used this complex for the first time in Ukraine. Immediately it was destroyed.
Various pieces of heavy equipment destroyed by the EW resistent PUNISHER UAVs.
A 2S4 Tyulpan destroyed near Donetsk.
Lets continue with the general events. Uplifting words from a Czech representative. But Ukraine needs more than words alone.
Kuleba called on the international community to finally step up against Russian agression and do really something to make Ukraine win this war. He is totally right.
Ukraine received more, somewhat obsolete, anti-aircraft guns. Who supplied them is unknown.
Ukraine has only a handful of working Leopard 2A6 at the front lines because repair of the damaged ones takes too much time. There is a lack of spare parts.
Türkiye denied it had allowed passage of two Ukrainian minesweepers, that are to be gifted by the UK. The country will not allow Russian or Ukrainian warships through the Bosphorus strait.

➡️The AFU has regained some area north of Synkivka, which is/was the theatre of Russian mechanized attacks for months now. Russian forces have been pushed back 500-1000 meter. Image

➡️North of Kurdyumivka, geolocated footage shows Russian forces in control of the area east of the railway tracks. This was previously AFU controlled during the offensive near Andriivka. It seems the AFU is maintaining positions west of the railway there. Image
