An overview of the daily events in Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Ukraine attacked Crimea (still ongoing) with a huge amount of drones and missiles. Lots of explosions are heard.

As usual we start with Russian losses.
During the night, just two Shahed drones entered Ukraine and were shot down immediately.
Better footage from a failed attack near Synkivka in which Russia lost several armored pieces of equipment. Previous losses are also visible
On the night of January 4, a Russian Su-34 aircraft burned down at the Shagol airfield in Chelyabinsk, Russia. Initial reports state that the GUR is responsible for an operation involving the destruction of this bomber.

Several Russian soldiers were taken captive after they surrendered near Robotyne, Zaporizhzia region.
A Russian Strela-10 AD system, destroyed
A heavy mortar 2S4 Tyulpan, destroyed.
A Russian T-72 destroyed near the railway tracks at Stepove, north of Avdiivka.
Then, in the afternoon, Sevastopol was struck by Ukrainian missiles.
Not much later, Ukrainian StratCom confirmed it had hit a Russian control and command post near Sevastopol. Although unconfirmed, there are strong signals that a radar system of an air defense complex was hit as well.
The attack with missiles was followed shortly after by drones. Explosions were heard on several places in occupied Crimea.
Than, around 23:30, a huge group of UAV's was spotted by Russian air defense heading for Crimea.
Explosions were reported in a lot of places in and around Crimea. In Russian coastal city Novorossyisk, air defense was extremely active, repelling incoming missiles.
Attacks went on, and are still ongoing. Tomorrow I will probably update on consequences of the attacks or new activity that happened after finalizing this SitRep.
It did not stop at Crimea and places in Russia. Bilhorod was also attacked. Violent explosions were reported.
Let's continue with the general events. Stoltenberg has convened a meeting of the Ukraine-NATO council after the strikes by Russia on civilian infrastructure.
Russia is planning to buy ballistic missiles from Iran, which could already be supplied as early as next march.
US officials stated that Russia is already using ballistic missiles bought from North Korea.
In addition to Norway, Belgium will also send F-16's for training purposes of Ukrainian pilots on the F-16 fighter jet.
Germany updated their list waith aid supplied to Ukraine. Special about this update is the delivery of the first SKYNEX air defense system. One of the most modern Rheinmetall systems produced lately.
