The young would-be model's fate is unknown when she arrived at Epstein's exclusive Caribbean island. It is alleged that numerous wealthy and well-known individuals have taken advantage of young females there.
The model didn't leave a note or seem to have notified anyone that she was suicidal before she passed herself, but detectives did discover that she had been attending a group to help her deal with trauma and suppressed memories. That trauma's nature was never identified.
In the weeks leading up to her passing, she had confided in friends that she was feeling homesick, was considering giving up modeling, and had started to lose weight.

In response to an inquiry about Korshunova in an email from her lawyer in 2011, Giuffre said, "I am sorry to hear the news of Ruslana, and my condolences are with her family and friends."
