Raskin: "The chairman refused to take yes for an answer from Hunter Biden"
Nancy Mace to Hunter Biden: "You have no balls"
Stay classy.
bad news for Jim Jordan
Nancy Mace is trying sooo hard to craft that perfect 20 second clip for Hannity
Moskowitz asks Republicans to show hands if they want to hear from Hunter Biden right now. Most don't raise their hands.
Moskowitz: "Even this morning on Mornings with Maria, she asked another simple question, the question you have been asked multiple times, which is, do you have evidence to impeach the president? ... the answer is, you don't."
Moskowitz is very good at this. Here he is exposing GOP hypocrisy by brandishing all the subpoenas that Republicans recently refused to comply with.
Hunter Biden walks out when Marge Greene begins her statement!
Holy shit the dishonesty of this Fox News chyron. Republicans won't let Hunter publicly testify!
Rep. Garcia: "I think it's really interesting to hear the gentlelady from Georgia speak about Hunter Biden leaving when she is the one who showed nude photos of Hunter Biden in this very committee room. Showing dick pics in this committee room."
ouch
Connolley: "Three names -- Jordan, Perry, and Biggs. Not a law firm. Three members of this body who defied a legitimately issues subpoena upheld by courts of law. I think it's really important to remember that when the word 'hypocrisy' is thrown around."
Raskin points out that Ashli Babbitt was not murdered, prompting Marge to interrupt him. Comer then shouts Raskin down as he makes a case that the person to blame for Babbitt's death is Donald Trump.
Crockett points out that if Republicans were serious about getting mad over presidents taking foreign money while in office, they should be really mad about Trump
Crockett: "I can't get over [Mace] talking about 'white privilege.' It was a spit in the face ... y'all don't know what white privilege looks like."
Crockett to Republicans: "Let me tell you why nobody wants to talk to you behind closed doors -- because y'all lie."
AOC: "You've got members who have engaged in revenge porn in this committee. So it's understandable why Hunter Biden would want to testify in front of the public."

lol bless her heart
MARGE GREENE: It's not pornography
RASKIN: You're the expert
Comer looks like he's having a blast!
Pat Fallon seems to think that Hunter Biden serves in Congress. Really.
Comer apparently peaced out of the hearing lol
Rep Lynch: "There's been no evidence brought forward against the president."
my "one of the victims of Jeffrey Epstein actually vindicated Trump" shirt raises a lot of questions already answered by my shirt
Raskin reminds people that Trump refused to divest himself from his businesses when he took office and then proceeded to take money from foreign governments, and now has lawyers arguing he has a right to assassinate his political opponents as long as he's not impeached
GOSAR: An inquiry is a search
RASKIN: And what's been found?
GOSAR: There's stuff there
RASKIN: Can you share it with us?
GOSAR: *word salad*
Rep. Shontel Brown: "We are here on behalf of one man. The self-proclaimed dictator on day one ... we are here because my colleagues on the other side of the aisle have no positive agenda to run on ... getting to the truth was never their actual goal."
Byron Donalds uses his time to do a promo for Trump hotels. Pitiful stuff.
DONALDS: Have you ever stayed at a Trump hotel, Mr Raskin?
RASKIN: No. And I would never stay at a Trump hotel. I have too much self-respect.
DONALDS: You stay at bad hotels?
Wow. Raskin spits facts here 👇
"Trump converted the presidency into an instrument for self-enrichment ... it was a money-making operation ... and yet out of some misguided partisan loyalty, you're gonna stick with him ... you guys have been taken over by an absolute con man"

I am going to put together a thread covering President Biden's torch-passing Oval Office address. Follow along for clips.
Biden from the Oval Office: "I revere this office, but I love this country more. It has been the honor of my life to serve as your president ... but this sacred task of perfecting our union, it's not me ... it's about we the people ... we are a great nation bc we are good people"
Biden: "We you elected me to this office, I promised to always level with you, to tell you the truth ... I believe my record as president merited a second term ... but nothing can come in the way of saving our democracy ... I've decided the best way forward is to pass the torch."
Harris begins with comments on Biden: "Joe's record of accomplishment over his entire career and over the past 3.5 years is unmatched in modern history. In one term as president he has already surpassed the legacy of most presidents who served two terms."
HARRIS: "So Wisconsin, I am told as of this morning that we have earned the support of enough delegates to secure the Democratic nomination."
I'm going to put together a thread covering Trump's rally in Grand Rapids, Michigan -- his first since last weekend's assassination attempt. Follow along for clips and commentary.

One other preliminary note -- JD Vance spoke before Trump and was very flat. His Ivy League delivery isn't a good fit for the MAGA rally vibe.
Welp, it's that time again. I'm going to put together a thread covering the final night (thank goodness) of the 2024 RNC. Follow along for clips and commentary.

Steve Danies opens the last night of the RNC by vowing that Republicans are gonna "build the wall" and "drill baby drill." The talking points never change.
I'm going to put together a thread on night 3 of the RNC, which will be headlined by JD Vance. Follow along for clips and commentary.

RNC Chair Michael Whatley kicks things off with a whopper, claiming "our economy is not nearly as strong as it was 4 years ago." (The unemployment rate in July 2020 was over 10 percent; it's about 4 percent now.)
