Hi #NAFOfellas, meet Kamila Valieva! She’s competed in the 2022 Winter #Orclympics in Beijing (1/13)
After the figure skating team event, Valieva tested positive for trimetazidine, a heart medication banned by @wada_ama due to its performance-enhancing effects. She was 15 at the time. (2/13)
Regardless, she was cleared to compete in the individual women’s figure skating event, with the caveat that, should she place in the top three, the medal ceremony wouldn’t be held. Valieva bombed the free skate, so the medal ceremony for that event could take place. (3/13)
Valieva’s teammates, Anna Shcherbakova and Alexandra Trusova placed first and second. As you can tell from these pictures (taken after the results were official), both were overjoyed at having won medals /s. Such ruzzian sportsmanship /s (4/13)
In fact, Trusova had a full-on tantrum when she found out she was second instead of first, crying that “everyone has a gold medal but me”. It appears she may have also subtly given “the finger” on the podium (5/13)
Trusova, Shcherbakova, and Valieva all share the same coach, Eteri Tutberidze. Team Tutberidze’s sport doc is Filipp Shvetsky, usually seen lurking in the shadows behind the coaching staff. Shvetsky had been previously banned for doping rowers. (6/13)
Therefore, it’s almost a given that Tutberidze’s other skaters were on the same “program” as Valiva- they were just luckier in not getting caught, making Kaori Sakamoto of Japan in all likelihood the clean/rightful winner of the women’s figure skating event. Congrats! (7/13)
BTW, in the figure skating team event, the US would win gold, Japan silver, and Canada bronze due to Valieva’s positive, DQ’ing ruzzia. Team USA, Japan, and Canada athletes still haven’t received their medals (8/13)
As you can see, the presence of ruzzian dopers negatively affects other athletes. In addition, as is typical in totalitarian regimes, ruzzian athletes are used for propaganda purposes. Here you can Valieva with pootin (9/13)
Following Valieva’s positive test, giant posters of her were displayed around ruzzia. Meanwhile, Ukrainians prepared for ruzzia’s upcoming invasion (10/13)
This propaganda piece tried to twist this whole situation around to Ukraine, calling the warnings of ruzzia’s impending invasion of Ukraine “baseless”. 5 days after the article was published, ruzzia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine began. ruzzia speaks, ruzzia lies (11/13).
So #NAFOfellas, my main points:
1). ruzzian doping is alive and well, even when competing under a “neutral flag”, disenfranchising clean athletes
2). ruzzians lack sportsmanship
3). Most crucially: Sports in ruzzia are deeply tied to pootin and the ruzzian government (12/13)
This is why ruzzia needs to be banned from the #OlympicGames. Stay tuned for more profiles about ruzzian Orclympians coming soon! (13/13)
Well the #BloodyOlympics are (finally) over. Let’s see how that whole “neutral” ruzzian/belaruzian thing worked out. A 🧵 (1/17)
A belaruzian national won silver trampoline jumping. Nearly immediately after her result was finalized, she was praised by belaruzian state media, which even had the audacity to say that she won the medal “for belaruz” (2/17)
Hey #NAFO meet Pierre de Coubertin, heralded as the “founder of the modern Olympics” (I will be calling it the #Orclympics for the rest of this 🧵). Why am I writing about this dude? Because he demonstrates IOC fascism, which continues to this day. (1/14)
As you can see, IOC accounts worship this guy. So why is this a problem? (2/14)
Well, because #PierreDeCoubertin was a nazi (3/14)
We all know that the #Orclympics supports ruzzian terrorism, but the IOC is also committing economic- and ecoterrorism. Today I’ll talk about how the Olympics are an economic disaster for host cities- in a later thread I’ll discuss the environmental impact. Let’s go! 🧵 (1/12)
From 1976-2012, the cost overrun for hosting the summer Olympics averaged a whopping 252%. The overrun costs are swallowed by local taxpayers. It took the city of Montreal 30 years to pay of the C$1.6 billion in debt incurred from hosting the 1976 Games (2/12)
In 2004, the debt from the summer Olympics in Athens helped catapult Greece into bankruptcy. The sports facilities built for the games are abandoned and crumbling, as is the fate of most venues built for the Olympics. (3/12)
